I remember seeing him interviewed some time ago on breakfast TV, the slightly smarmy host said, so, Meatloaf, what should we call you during this interview. He immediately replied “You can call me Meat, or Mr Loaf” The host called him Mr Loaf throughout, but don’t think they thought that was as funny as I, or indeed Mr Loaf, did.
Didn’t really gel with his flouncy shirt handkerchief carrying theatrical image, but he could hold a tune.
