Anybody running Dunlop Sportsmarts?

  1. I've had these on for about 2,000 miles now, grip really well, steer well, seem to be wearing well. BUT at high speeds (130mph+) the bike weaves gently which it never did on the original Pirelli's which were stable up to flat out, throttle against the stop.

Nothing else has changed on the bike so it can only be the tyres. Tried them at various different pressures from what Ducati recommend for the standard tyres up to 36/42 psi and still get a gentle weave. It's not too bad but would prefer it didn't.

N.B. These speeds have been done under carefuly supervised conditions on private test tracks and German Autobahn's.

  2. Mine has Roadsmarts on it, they are ok, also had them on my Triumph St1050 without any problems

  3. Havent had mine up to those sort of speeds for long enough to notice a weave.
But grip was very good round mallory.

  4. Am running the sportmaxes third set so far no weave here. U got the top box or panniers on ?

  5. No top box or panniers...........though i have had 157 mph out of it (144 on gps) with top box on on the original Scorps and it was dead stable...yes I've read the don't exceed 180 kph warnings on panniers and or top box.

What pressures are you running your sportsmarts?

  6. I have them on my R1 and love them, never had a weave on them either at high speeds. I'm onto my second rear now. Could it be a fault in the tyre.
