Collected the SuperSport from MR after a service and whilst I was there, treated myself to an “official” Ducati Corse pit mat that has just appeared in the spring catalogue. Yes, I know, I’m a tart but it’s a lovely thing Also dropped a Multistrada head off at OCS across the road for a small job. Andy
Took my mates Tuono over in my van for a service and have the dealer check what seemed like a very noisy gearbox. Chain too slack apparently by 40mm. Dropped into Ducati Nottingham saw a RVE Hypermotard which looks way better in the flesh, the SFv4 which for me looks meh and finally a MonsterS with a lot of very trick aftermarket parts fitted.
Fitted some new mats in the garage. Fixed them together, but just need one more which arrives tomorrow. Pictures to follow, obvs.
Answered a distress call from my neighbour Liz, one of her lads had somehow managed to break in half the pedal crank arm on his pushbike Like htf do you manage to do that ??? Anyhow I took the pedal out and then after a bit of a chew and a lot of heat, I managed to extract the remains of the crank arm from the bottom bracket spindle, just waiting for replacement bits before I put it back together.. Anyhow, while I was around there I was introduced to the new arrival to their family….. Introducing “Strider” the white wolf pup ,……he’s a white Alsatian really, but he’s lovely and fluffy and when he grows into those ears he’s gonna be a big boy Gotta love a puppy dog !
Looks like a real ball-ache of a job! How many miles has it done and what sort of condition were the plastic gears in when you got them off? Were they knackered or did they look okay??
Actually a really easy job, just a battle to get the exhaust off. It's purely a track bike and has done about 2500 track miles, one of the teeth on the drive gear had some marks on it otherwise OK. Pump is getting changed at the same time as it has been revised a few time, and a proper drain fitted to the tell tale hole.
Took delivery of a Ducati luggage plate today, to strap my Kriega bag on the back of the Pikes Peak. It was only cheap, so I’ll see how it fits/ looks once the bike arrives.
Bought a decent rear disc for my track bike, and a second 4amp dual charger for the other side of the garage. Andy
Paid for the service on my Multi. New belts fitted and Serie Oro rear disc n new upgraded pads fitted too. Seems shame it’s sorned but I’m not going to mess it up taking it out at this time of year.
Ordered a link pipe in preparation for de-cating my KTM and tried to book it in for a remap after I’ve de catted and fitted an aftermarket slip on. Can’t decide between the Leo Vance or the Austin Racing
Well small for me as I only had to take the bikes out of my garage yesterday and put them back in there tonight! Both bikes collected by Paul @PGP , serviced and safely returned. Paul is the ultimate perfectionist and very good value compared to main dealers. Anyone want to buy some 'one careful owner' cam belts
Where's he based, as once my MTS goes out of its 4-year warranty this April, I may well be looking for a reliable, reasonably priced, trustworthy servicing technician? I'm in Somerset and if anyone on the forum knows of someone similar hereabouts too, that would also be helpful.
