Hi, I'm looking at options of getting a couple of cars to the ALPS (ISH). Probably Austria. Basically I am attempting to avoid 12 hours of motorways. Does anyone have any ideas? I know Car-Trains used to be a thing?? not sure if they still are? it certainly sounds appealing having a snooze and a booze... Thanks in advance,
I know you Kent lot still point at planes, but passengers are carried in them. Gatwick, Heathrow or if you really must Stanstead. A pilot is provided too.
Unless BA have a couple of Hercules I’m not aware of. I’m not sure how I’m going to get my car in their 737’s
Car transporter drives over all the cars and the couples fly in a plane ffs, I can’t plan the whole jaunt for you. Unless I’m rewarded or remunerated in some way my times valuable as I is well old.
Dusseldorf to Innsbruck is the train you are looking for. Best ferries -depending on where you are- might be Harwich Amsterdam arriving 08.00am and 150 miles drive to Dusseldorf. Calais is 250 miles from Dusseldorf so not much in it really...
These guys I believe ? https://urlaubs-express.de/duesseldorf-innsbruck-duesseldorf-arz-aktuell/?lang=en I’m based in Kent
Thanks. Need a lot of two seaters for that lot. Alpine rugby, bet that’s a rough sport. All very confusing
we have done this twice on the motorbike, highly recommended, we will definitely do it again. Get on in the evening, get off in the morning. We bought food in the main station and took it on board.
The car trains between Düsseldorf and Innsbruck are AutoZug, the tickets were sold by several companies, but several no longer offer that route. Urlaubs Express were selling tickets a few weeks ago.
