(small) Bike Things You've Done Today

  1. The work office garage - two floors completely empty at weekends. During lockdown my R1 was uninsured and I did 6 miles riding it around the two floors of the underground car park. :D

There is a pushbike as well, but that is used to collect dust :D

  5. Looks to be a reasonably dry and warmish day, any remaining salt will washed away by tonight’s rain.
Are you taking the newbie out?

  6. I’m going in the car as the box will have a complete rear seat unit and pegs in it and will be around 50cm x 40cm x 30cm is my guess

  7. Removed the track bodywork from the R6, got the bike on the trailer, found the bits that are going to be fitted to it and after a bite to eat, I'm going to drop the bike off. With more room in the garage whilst the R6 is off being fettled and as the V4 is off to MR on Friday, wrestled the V4 out of the utility room and into the garage as well. I'm knackered now :joy: Andy

  8. Just been to collect the rear seat unit bits that should have been delivered with my Bayliss :

Just about to book a date for the scramblers mot.

  9. Dropped off the SS at Ducati Mcr for an internal investigation

  10. Did you see the BiMoto Tesi 3D DB1 Adam was working on in the workshop?

  14. Received my Evotech order today. Got some lever guards, handlebar mount for the Garmin, and fork bobbins for the Streetfighter, and an SP Connect central handlebar mount for the PP.

I figured I won’t need to use a handlebar bag with the new Multi, as I can stick my visor cleaner etc in the cubbyhole, so having my phone centrally mounted will be much tidier.

Annoyingly, they pack the mounts into about ten bags, so I managed to mix everything up. I think I’ve sussed out what kit is for which bike, but will give my dealer two bags of nuts and bolts & let them have some fun trying to work it out!

  15. My V4 goes to MR tomorrow to be stripped of the track kit and have re-fitted all the OE parts. Finally, having put the job of retrieving the OE parts from the loft off, until the last moment, I have been up & down, up & down, up & down ….. you get the drift, for the last 90 minutes . OMG, there’s so much stuff, you can’t move in my front room now for all the boxes, a petrol tank and panels :astonished: On a different subject but facilitated by my visits to the loft, I found the original rear brake m/c and both sets of brake lines for my 748R. Bonus :D Andy

  16. Continued with fitting RCS and M4s to my 749.

Even though one would think that the RCS appears the same as the standard m/cyl, the bore of the cylinder is perpendicular to the handlebar axis. Standard m/cyl is angled outboard. This teeny change means it is a bit of a juggle to get it fitted so the lever has the correct ergonomic angle ( double banjo bolt interference with fork leg) and also the lever doesn’t foul on the starter switch block.
Had to rotate the single cable throttle housing around on the bar by approx 120 deg which meant drilling a new hole in the bar to locate it.

Tried brake hoses “inside” and “outside” (around front of forks) - ended up with inside as appeared neater and hoses interfered less when bars moved lock to lock.
