V4 Pikes Peak

  1. Too wet for 160 mph , like a skating rink in the Marches and Wales.
But I tell you what , its great , even when it slides . The suspension is sublime and the ride comfortable even with the changes to the position . The conditions were not perfect as you can see and running new tyres , in the wet and shit and running no higher than 6K creates its own issues , but the bike so far is exactly what I wanted. Roll on the dry roads an I can then find out how good it really is and push the boundrys a bit. Spain trip 1st June so need to get my head around it. One thing I did notice was the wind blast from the smaller screen , not an issue but may also get the standard size in black for longer trips to reduce the wind , fine on short blasts but I use the high seat in the high position so this may be the cause but iI like to be on the bike , not in it

  2. Thanks for sharing. Nice to see a dirty PP for a change ;) Only know I noticed the engine has 2 different colors from each side...

  3. That looks great! Did you have a 1260 before?

  4. No , I had the V4S and before that a 1250 Gs , I did have a 2010 1200 s at one point. This new bike is fantastic even in the wet , the Ohlins are smooth even in sport .

  5. No worries , like to ride my bike most of the year apart from when the roads are salted. The different colours are fine with me as the rest of the bike is brilliant ( so far ) lol.

  6. That is so the Americans know which side is left and right :)
My dealer also said the red bars on the wheels are so they know if it is moving or not! :)

  7. Not a chance, to illiminate this particular deficiency will require far more........

  11. Looks stunning mate. I’m hoping Evotech release the engine guard soon, as it’ll stop a lot of that tar peppering the engine.

  12. I will give it a detailed clean on sunday , on the V4s I had a fender extender and that worked very well , not available yet for the PP carbon front . pity as it was effective . Well spotted by the way ( tar spots) toothbrush and tar remover next...

  13. Definitely a contender for the world's longest number plate holder!

  14. Get some Gyeon Q2M tar remover. Spray on and it’ll dissolve the tar, no need for a toothbrush.

Btw, has your dealer said when they’ll have your full system in stock?

  15. Are there already kinks in the rear wheel?

  16. Kinks? Looks like a couple of stone chips to me.

  17. Yes can be that...but How come it makes that much damage?

  18. That’s our shitty roads for you. So annoying when that happens on a brand new bike, but a touch up pen will hide any chips.
