Dunno how you could ride it with wonky cranks like that Chris would be like riding with yer shoelaces tied together
I have a wonky spine anyway and weirdly the difference is around 5-10mm for me but it's the wrong way round so hindered rather than helped but didn't notice and to be honest, not sure many would at 5mm. phone battery flat due to colder than I thought so missed loads of tree-pics, one closing a road off which would have killed an Elefant, the two surgeons will be there for the whole day, trunk will need their largest 'saw and from both sides. Another one crushed 5 cars at an old people's home, nobody hurt, house untouched.
"bottom bracket" has half-stripped thread as well, so this is my next job. Bike was good apart from this, although under-geared (only because it's powered) and 11 tooth and 13 tooth slightly worn. Power Assistance on movement of pedals is set well, very impressed particularly as this feature often comes up for neg criticism. The motor is "holding back" at anything over 22 mph* so might look at that, unexpected bonus at end of journey was finding that Power Assisted setting 6 means you don't need to touch the thumb throttle anymore. Not sure I need a Dragon-Slaying 1000/1500W motor now after experiencing this, (250W) as still encourages rider to pedal. *private land only.
Thread clean up time or push fit conversion BB? As you’ll be aware Chris as you’ve mentioned the holding back it’s governed to that output or it will need registering as a moped. Obvs if you do restrict you’ll only be using the ‘moped’ on private land with the landowners permission. Good Luck
thread clean attempted but it's too damaged and in danger of breaking tap - you know those spindles are a %&@£ing tough piece of work, so when thread damaged, they is definitely damaged sadly. I would love to update at some point to later gear N, but i'm fire-fighting a little as many other "iffy" areas that need looking at, so will hold-fire and just replace with equiv for now. P.S. - I just managed to "tweak" a bit more re: restriction - I can p.m. as don't want to ruffle the speed police.
Ventured back to get some pics, but all over bar the shouting, a lot of very hard work today for some people. Battery range with cycling looks to be around the 25 to 30 miles so will do for now.
just found this from 2016, be careful people.. :- https://www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/surrey-news/solicitor-paralysed-after-fall-during-12157957
wow - reading that it sounds like extremely bad luck to fall like that - I hope the coach has insurance cover...
It is indeed probably plenty crash OTB and walk away, I did about 16 years ago but walked away with a smashed helmet and a very bruised shoulder that was immobilised for about 6 weeks. I should hope he has for both their sakes, no sense in seeing someone without assets, cash or insurance to cover a lack of the first two.
fastest 14 miles i've ever done on a "bicycle" no pictures, they would have been a blurr. Still feels like cheating, i'll put that down as 7.
Dunno what’s happened to the weather in Oz this week, seem to get a dry day then a wet day, today was forecast 80% chance of showers, so I was a bit like Mavis Riley off Coronation Street….”Oooo.. I don’t know what to do Rita! ”…anyhow, I took a jump and went out. skies looked threatening all day.. Made it out to the coast without getting wet, but it was bloody deserted… Anyhow, I stopped to refuel… Diet pancakes and berries with an iced coffee to wash them down,….zero calories here Bit sad this, but when an Aussie cyclist is killed on the road , they mark the spot with an old bike painted white.. If it makes someone think for a couple of seconds or give a bike an extra yard clearance it’s worth it A sneaky speed camera setup over here, chained behind a gantry and left overnight, …ker-ching!! We’ll be Miwwionaire’s in the morning Rodney ! Been a great bike this.. Built it up mesen, chose all the components I wanted and really enjoyed building it and riding it ever since. The rain eventually caught up with me , hellish headwinds on the way back and squally showers The rain brought the temperature down to a nice comfortable level tbh,..but hopefully the next ride will be a sunny one
Aussie lightweights that high Summer weather in England. The Ghost bike thing is a thing over here too Poucher but tends to be London/Home Counties more than widespread. Won’t change drivers behaviour nor attitude IMO only reminds cyclists how vulnerable you are. That’s a lovely looking Dale, enjoy your mileage bud.
Great post and pics poucher, keep em coming. Take heart, it's pissing down and cold here. I've done more on the turbo in feb than all winter, Feb been rough. All the trails are a watery slopfest at the minute, worst they've been all winter. Another crappy morning oop North today.
@Mr Bimble it’s a coastal route, nothing in the way of hills really, nothing like the North Yorkshire Moors Am I missing them ?..well, I am ..and I’m not, a change is as good as a rest as they say On one of my MTB routes from Ingleby Greenhow, you get this much climbing in the first mile.. So 1 mile in to a thirty odd mile mtb ride and you’ve done over 650 ft already, certainly gets the heart/legs/lungs working pretty sharpish ! Sometimes it just good to chillax and take it all in
