Just had a call to say mine's being built, and should be at dealer around the 10th March - excited! (I was originally told end-March / early April, so this is sooner than expected)
Excellent! Not long now, spring is coming! In other news I am purchasing a Tony James Designs PPF kit. I have spoke to Tony a couple of times and I have to say he seems like brilliant guy who seems extremely passionate about his kits. I know you were keen on PFF so I thought I would share.
These guys. They were local and had done a Panigale before. That was the limit of my research. https://autocurators.com/portfolio/
Do they do many bikes? I was talking to the guys at Snell when I was there Saturday, and they said they have someone that does all their PPF for them, so I'm planning on getting mine done before I collect it.
Not sure how many they have done but it's booked in for Tuesday so I will let you know how it goes. Snells did mention they had a PPF guy. It's certainly easier just to get it done while it is there.
Should have said, I was pointed in their direction by the Forum’s resident Vehicle detailer, Rob and they have been great to work with. Subsequently had them do some polishing on my car wheels. Andy
Did you read the write up in the portfolio link ? I know it was the first time they had worked with a Panigale V4 but my memory is telling me it took 3 days. Andy
3 days?! I’ll contact the guys that Snell use regularly, as I’m sure they could do it quicker, and cheaper. I can’t quite justify knocking on for £1k to do 2 bikes; it would make more sense to just replace the odd panel when/ if they get chipped.
I think Snell's was 250 all in. The guy is something to do with chipsaway as his van was outside at the time.
I'm having rear pillion pegs removed to do the full monoposto conversion, so asked my dealer if spacers were required, or whether they came with the seat cowl as someone suggested. I've just been asked (online) to approve a couple of spacers for total of £6.58 so I assume they don't come with cowl. Part # 71614961AA - spacer Just thought I'd share that.
Got my bike today. Collected in a van due to weather. Dealer had already removed the pillion pegs and installed the spacers. Installed Evotech Rad Guards. 25 mins. Tried to install the Evotech bar ends and it didn't fit! In fact it got stuck half way in, started crying, rang Evotech. They experienced the same issue on their 2nd trial bike. The inside of the left bar is not smooth. Poor manufacturing apparently. I had to smash it out with a screwdriver and damaged it. My advice is don't install the bar ends until they have found a solution, I don't blame Evotech, they were really good on the phone.
