I guess I’m just going to have to wait and see how I get on, as height is irrelevant without inside leg measurement. I’m confident that the ergos with the PP screen will be spot on for me though.
On the warmer days, I have found the standard V4S screen doesn't allow enough air through and it can get quite warm. I've bought a PP clear screen to see how that goes but not had a chance to try it so far.
Yup, they're delivering it later this week but bloody full system, tail tidy etc will have to wait until 1st service
On the upside you’ll be able to tell us all about the difference between the standard system and the full Akrapovic. Something I’d really like to know about.
I will be able to , I ran my V4s straight from new with the race system on and it was good . I have not put this system on the new one yet as finding insurance difficult snd also will be doing several trips in Europe is possible sensitive areas and the race is louder , not too loud but earplug loud. . The bike is in for first service Saturday so hopefully Sunday will give me a better idea on how it runs as up to the 621 miles you won’t really notice . It’s a choice made by situation so let’s see how it pans out . When I rode the demo for a full day I must admit I never felt that the bike was struggling at all , it was smooth and quiet and did not feel restricted .let’s see ….
Are you fitting the full system from your V4S onto the PP, or waiting for a new system to be delivered?
Know what you mean about insurance. Pain in the arse getting decent prices with system. Circa 450 right now but got to bite bullet this week
Anybody who runs a loud system on their bike could be in for a shock if they visit Europe in the next few years. France is currently running a trial in a number of cities such as Paris and Nice. They have installed noise cameras that detect a noisy exhaust above a certain limit and automatically send out a fine.If the trial is successful then it’ll be rolled out countrywide and no doubt other countries will take it up, including Britain. The fuelling on the standard bike is pretty good so is there really any point in spending £thousands extra for a tiny bit of refinement and giving yourself insurance issues and possible fines. Let’s be honest, those that do it tend to be the vain ones who just want the pub/forum bragging rights. Of course they’ll claim that the bike is transformed and it’s how the bike should be, blah blah blah……. They could of course run the bike with baffles in but that’s very gay, apparently
Let us know the firm you will use as I , at the moment , cannot find anyone who will insure with the full system. Cheers
I will be waiting as due to the trips and the insurance , I let it go with the trade in as the deal was good. Will I miss the full system , I am yet to find out once I get to use the PP now its run in.
No issues getting my insurance company to insure it with the full system, as it doesn't increase the power significantly.
nothing like how loud just the akra end cans are on the streetfighter; they were too much really, very 'obvious'.......especially in those small french villages
Worth a double check , as they asked if it is road legal , which it is not as its not marked road use with the numbers , it has no markings so they said this would null my insurance as the bike would be not for road use , even with the power increases etc . Not road legal , no insurance so rather than not fully tell the story to them to find later my insurance is worth nothing , I told them the 100% facts , track use only. Still looking for an insurance company that will insure a bike with an illegal non road use (closed circuit use only) full exhaust system, struggling at the moment. Its a situation that most may take the risk but I have chosen to not run with it until I can get full cover with the system that is not road legal. I spent quite a time looking and still no good. Sorry just to add I was originally insured with the full system , but they did not realise it was non road use as I told them it was a full system from Ducati Accessories and played a bit dumb, after re insuring I was asked different questions gave full answers , so I could not lie.
I ordered the day after launch. Leeds didn’t commit one way or another on delivery, which I get, I’m just happy it will turn up before the TT.
