Motogp, Round 1, Qatar *spoiler*

  1. We'er clearly out of practice, posting the thread after FP2 :joy:
I see the usual MotoGP suspects at the sharp end apart from Ducati. Jake top Brit in Moto2 but well behind the 2 rookies who came up from Moto3, Acosta and Fernandez and McPhee up there in his final season in Moto3. Curious to see a young brit, Josh Whatley, running at the back for Visiontrack. Could that be a contributory reason for Visiontrack dumping PBM ? Andy

  2. Only caught a a bit and Ducati seem to be pretty poor at a circuit they normally go at. Also looks like they may have lost that top end power: not great given all bikes apart Honda seem to handle at least 10% better.

  3. Isn't that the moto3 team Laverty has started running. Taylor Mckenzie is doing the marketing stuff i think

  4. Looks like a nerve was well and truly touched…

  5. yes, Scott Ogden also rides for them and was running well at one point yesterday but he’s down in 20th or so now

  6. Crash fest in Moto2 FP3 this morning. Some interesting technical stuff from Laverty in the commentary about over revving affecting the blipper on the Triumph. God, I'm an anorack :joy: Andy

  7. I could listen to him all day tbh (and did yesterday lol)
He was talking about how they all pick their engines out of a draw in moto 3 at the start of the season which I didn’t know either.

  8. Who’s going to be the first to get their pride and joy wrapped in Gresini lilac then? :joy::mask::mask:

  9. I think Laverty is the best for tech stuff and explains it very well, good to see a UK team in Moto 3

  10. Confused. Didn’t mcphee go to M2? He’s racing m3 today??

  11. Btw how idiotic (and yes I know most are young) are they to be weaving like that in straights?! I raced a couple of guys who used to do that a saw one punt someone off and also pushed me into the wall at pembrey. If I’d have been a slight build I wouldn’t have been able to bash back

  12. I think it was along the lines of ? he was meant to go moto2 last year but was asked by the team to stay in moto3 for Dixon to take the moto2 ride but this year is Mcphee last moto3 season as now to old as reached the age limit for a moto3 rider.

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  13. No one could accuse you of being a slight build.

  14. nope it’s his last season in m3 as he’s 27 (I think) and they’re saying most of the m2 contracts will be finalised over the first four rounds so he needs to start the season well.

  15. You never see a poor bookie etc…

  16. Ducati 1-2, 4 in top 10
Concern of their demise may be premature…. And Marc back on the pace again…

  17. Anyone else getting frustrated with laps being nullified by yellow flag. Sam must be well pissed off.

  18. Im getting frustrated by MM,
I remember a few years back they called Hector barbera "The caravan" as he would always follow riders to get a result and the commentators would slag him of but as MM has now taken this way of riding since last year they seem to just think its fine or make a small joke in his favour, yes MM is a super talent but obviously struggling to get a result and yes i know its with in the rules.
