Hey everyone, My 2021 ex-demo Scrambler Nightshift arrived this week - my very first bike (at the ripe old age of 40… proper midlife crisis ). Joined the forum for advice, tips and a steer on any local clubs to Dorset to get out for a ride with fellow Ducati owners. Cheers all!
Good choice! My first bike was a Scrambler as well. And I was even older! Feel like I'm making up for lost time now though and the Scrambler has gone to be replaced with 3 other bikes - my missus is very understanding!
Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the scrambler, great bike... Looks like Blade in Oxford ... how was your experience ?
It was Blade indeed. Experience was ok - but not great, as communication was quite poor. Didn’t get replies to a few emails about collection, nor a quote on delivery when promised. Also had to wait about half an hour from my allotted time slot as the sales guy was with someone else (couldn’t really be helped though). All of that is more than forgivable, as I’ve now got a stunning bike in my garage right now, without any hitches.
Welcome along, just bought a scrambler 1100 myself having loved the time on the loaner while my Multi was being serviced. My part of the country, where abouts in Dorset are you?
Hey Ackers, I’m in Bournemouth - you’re in Poole, right? Any idea on any meet ups in the area? Btw - your name isn’t Simon, is it?
Yeah over Broadstone area. There’s the regular Bike Night down on the quay Tues nights in the summer, there’s a pretty active Bournemouth and Poole Bikers Facebook group that organise rides outs most Sundays in the summer but I found its popularity its downfall for me, not a fan of big group ride outs. S-Bomb by the twin sails bridge is a popular hang out too. Nope, I’m not a Simon
Yeah, I’ll be heading down the quay in the summer. I know a Simon Ackerman who lives in Poole - though that might be you by your username!
Welcome to the forum , You also have the Ducati owners club meet up every month just outside Weymouth .
Are you a member of the DOCGB? If you are you’ll be able to join the local branch Facebook page and get details of meets and ride outs from there.
You can follow The Ducati UK Mob on Facebook - they organised some meets in the Cotswolds last year, think there’s one coming up on the 3rd April, quite a few from your neck of the woods.
