  6. Went and tried the different seat options for my new bike, so will go for the high seat, as I can flat foot with it in the high position on the Pikes Peak. I think my legs have got longer. Must be all the exercise.

  7. Wallpapering, the end is in sight now

  16. Heated seats! Electric throws! More than one jumper to wear. Heated grips on motorbikes! Wall paper on the walls! I struggle to pay my domestic staff and keep my bins in order! Decadence!
When I were a lad my blankets had sleeves and pockets on them! Windows froze up inside and a lump of coal was a weeks wage. Tell you young uns that and they don’t believe a word.
Sun shining here in Provence off to thrash a few of the Froggy types. Lunch on the terrace.

  17. A truly lovely French lady that I’ve known for many many years came to the end of her days on Thursday. She took me in and made me part of her family when I was aged 11. Taught me French, an appreciation of style and proper coffee.

I had no hesitation about dropping everything, pulling out the black suit and tie and getting on the silver bird, there was no way going to let her down.

So I write this as I’ve just touched down in Marseille.

Inevitably I wish I could have seen her one last time but it should a celebration of a road well traveled.

It’ll be good to be in France amongst friends for a couple of days. I bought a bottle of Moët to celebrate her life.

  18. It's always sad to lose a good friend but to celebrate their life is a proper send off. Cry a little, laugh a little and drink a ………. well, however much you want really :D Andy
