Not as suspicious as it sounds ! When I was buying my 900 last year I had to get a loan for it. While I was arranging it to be shipped etc my mother in law was in end of life care - and it was something we chatted about. She mentioned to my Helen (her daughter) that she thought she should buy the Ducati for me and whilst it wasn't part of the will that is what has happened. So I want something to remind me and mark her place on the bike So I thought a plate on the top yolk like on a superlight with the Ducati text at the top but underneath "In memory of Carol" Anyone suggest where I could get a replica plate made up ??
You will clearly be doing this for sentimental reasons, and may never sell the bike. But if you ever did want to sell it, a plate like that permanently rivetted to the top yolk wouldn't be to others taste. Maybe worth considering a style that could be removed without damage?
I thought They kinda look more like they letters are raised rather than engraved. If someone wanted to remove it then they could simply put a yoke cover on. It's got a carbon fibre cover on now - who knows - when I remove it there might be two small holes... lol...
An engraver can do that for you. These guys are no good for you as they are too far away, but I use them to do similar for work and know they could do it. http://www.rtengraving.com/
Ace - thanks I'll bung them an email - as long as they have a bank account and can post stuff then there won't be a problem ! Cheers
