1260 Rear Wheel Removal With Full Termignoni?

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by dasjefe, Mar 16, 2022.

  1. Have a 2020 Pikes Peak I just got a full Termi system installed by a Ducati dealer. No clue how to get the rear can off to remove the back wheel. I've removed the springs but nothing seems to have any give at all. Don't want to remove everything to the headers if I can help it. Not accustomed to these fittings. Is there a trick to get the can off? Any tips?

This exhaust is 96481471A if that helps.

  2. Welcome. Why don’t you introduce yourself properly in the newbies section too please? :)

  3. If it's the same end can as the one pictured, it's a simple enough task, remove the single spring from can to pipe behind the pillion footrest bracket, remove the 8mm bolt attaching the can to the pillion peg bracket, then pull the can away from the pipe, it may need a bit of wiggling to release it ;)

  6. Absolutely! I was looking at BST wheels the other day, very nice indeed.

  7. Yes sir. That is the same can as I have. I did remove the spring and 8mm bolt and attempted to wiggle the can off but with no success. Maybe I will add a bit of heat and try again? I can remove the wheel with the can intact but seems like I'm apt to scrape the wheel. Those are very nice wheels you've got!

  8. A nice neat exhaust hanger would finish that off a treat. Get rid of those pillion pegs!

  9. If it's not been removed for a while certainly a bit of heat should do the trick :upyeah:

  10. Haha, you got something to sell
Pillion pegs come in handy for the pillion's feet though :grinning:
