The V4 Ducati carbon screen is 38cm deep, 30cm wide (widest part) and the top (centre) of it is about 7/8cm from the the top of the top screw housings. The air scoop is about 5/6cm from the top (unlike the Pikes Peak stock screen which appears to be half way down the screen).
I bought a Givi screen directly from a supplier in Italy but only used it a week because the screen has bends at the top of the screen it is misforming your view although the turbulence at your shoulder is a lot better. Now I use the standard screen and a small mra adjustable screen.
Thanks for the advice on the Givi screen. That’s another one currently off the list. Do you recall if you have the type A,B or C MRA adjustable screen? thank, pj
it is the one which you can take off and put on another motorcycle which I did in the summer I also take it off with the Ducati.
I have a smoked type C MRA adjustable screen adapter and seems to help (especially with touring screen)…
Picked up my V4S yesterday, didn’t notice buffeting in high or low position but jeez the noise is worse than a naked bike..I’m 6’3 so perhaps always well over the height of any screen. I’ll have another go this weekend with a different helmet and I also bought the Ducabike sport screen as an option..I wonder whether the hand guards effect noise.
A well debated subject, try a spin around the block with no screen, this will probably show you that the screen is the problem. I cut mine down a couple of times, that worked, I now have the Puig sport screen, absolutely fine. Had a real blast on an empty road yesterday and more than happy at all speeds. Go short
Tried my Ducabike sport screen today, it’s not affected the buffeting/turbulence but the noise is even worse than the standard. Changed helmets and took the hand guards off, still horrendous noise, think I’d rather have the buffeting from a naked bike than the noise.. what now ?
You should. deafness and tinnitus are horrible and life changing. I bought these last year. Expensive for what they are but they are the best earplugs I have tried by a good margin. https://bollsen-hearingprotection.com/shop/life-plus/
I can recommend these https://ultimateear.com/product-category/motorcycle-ear-plugs/ I have the ones with the filters. Very comfortable, I actually use them for work as well as they are so good.
I’m not surprised you find it noisy if you don’t wear ear plugs. I find the moulded ones best such as Ultimate Ear, more expensive but you can get filters fitted to change the amount of noise that’s let through. If you want to try soft ear plugs there is a company on eBay called Midland Moto which do loads of different types, you can get a selection of different styles to try first. I personally used to use the EAR Soft FX ones https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/28219762...NFWH2If5EeZP8A9C7UQYXaQjvAwl5o8BoCxmgQAvD_BwE
I’ve been using these for years…. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0166S0ASQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
