So here I am, tinkering with my 916, Iron Maiden blasting through the garage, and here comes « The Trooper ». Listening to the lyrics, it occurred to me that this song would fit Saturday’s match pretty well, if you guys were taking the Russians on and not the French… Man, this is going to be epic. Bring it on!!! Edit: I understand the Union Jack does not represent England only. But I don’t believe a St George version of this album cover exists.
I didn't view it but i was very surprised with the 22 points which they bagged, perhaps this is a new beginning for them.
Big respect to Josh Adams. Given the player of the match seconds before Italy scored. He handed his medal to the Italian full back who created the try (abs had an outstanding game). Class.
Well England are disappointing again, anybody playing at the Stade de France with their own team on fire are certainly going to be in trouble. Time for a change at the helm in my opinion.
My, what a game. And what a 6N tournament !!! Italy winning in Cardiff also highly contributing to make today a very special day in NH rugby.
This is the RFU. They will plod along into the world cup backing Jones all the way, lose badly, fire him and offer a small fortune to anyone who wants the poison chalice.
Although England have been poor most games, you can’t fault the effort that goes in. They just seem devoid of ideas at times. Exactly why we lost the World Cup final: one trick tactical pony unable to alter course when it’s not working. That’s coaching and management not players.
Very true, England probably have more playing talent than any other nation. Unlike every other nation though, England have the RFU, who constantly teeter on the brink of insolvency, even though England rugby revenues far exceed any other nations.
The French team were clearly the better, more organised and creative team on the day. England although at times taking some initiative, which definitely got France on the back foot, didn't have the intelligence, leadership or creativity to make any real headway. I must be honest my heart sank the moment I realised Jaco Peyper was the referee selected for this critical match, due to his previous less than competent performances. However, although making a few rather strange, inconsistent decisions during the game, he did OK!. IMO, although I have held a lot of respect for Jones' coaching approach for some time, his mindset, attitude and coaching style, has come to the natural end of its road, too many players selected, too many coaching staff changes and far too much inconsistency. Well deserved win for France, after so many years waiting. Maybe a good omen for the forthcoming world cup, then again..........
