agree, it's a sad time for MM as still had so much potential despite his brief incredibly successful career. Just had a quick swot up on diplopia and although it's causes can be many, the fact that this originated (I believe) from a head injury means it really can't be ignored.
I think he will be forced to retire, tbh I believe there’s precedent for the FIA or Dorna to revoke his race licence given he is without doubt extremely vulnerable to head trauma

He should retire while he still can. He has nothing to prove to anyone. I foresee a Mr Acosta in that seat. At the very least in Pol's as he's about as much use as me on the Honda.

I don't pretend to know a great deal about MotoGP, but I have a fair assessment of what makes the world go round, money! Like Vale being encouraged to stay in the paddock for a few extra years (great for global business), I really can't see Dorna turfing out MM just yet. They seem happy to strap a rider onto a bike so long as he can swing his leg over it. If the eye recovers but is likely to be affected by further impacts then hopefully MM will be smart and exit stage left as one of the best in the sport.

It may well be as ultimately nothing matters apart from your health, but I wouldn’t half miss him. VR going is one thing, at least he did it on his own terms and after decades in the sport. However MM was outright the best & most exciting rider I ever saw on a GP bike & whatever his foibles, he is/was streets ahead of everyone else in terms of raw natural ability. More than even a “generational” rider imo.
Yes I think he should before he is carried away on a stretcher. He has won all he needs to win and now is just becoming a liability to himself and also others (trying to get tows on qualifying etc)......
years go by quickly for me, that's still 10 less than V.R. (so less than half, dintsioac?) and 3 less than J.L. for example, possibly spoilt by the former.
He’s lives on the edge but unfortunately that comes at a cost. i think it was Rossi who said something like Marc is very bold, but he’d be interested to see how he was after he got seriously hurt. As in, it was bound to happen. Sad times and massive respect to Marquez, but I feel like it’s the old live by the sword die by the sword. Hopefully it doesn’t come to that. You see riders and drivers like him now and then, not so much in the soft play world we live in these days, but they’re often mega quick but also often don’t last long throwing themselves at the scenery 24/7. #winitorbinit
Lets face it the ONLY reason hes continuing to this pointis to beat Rossi's record. Its a bit of a shame that he couldnt win one last title this year, retire and call it a sporting draw because you couldnt put a rizla between the two in all honesty, but as we all know life doesnt work like that. But thats the point isnt it, hes still only 30 odd, got most of his life still ahead of him but he's falling apart at the seams! He should take some lessons off Casey and learn to get on with his extremely rich (in every way) life outside of the moto gp circus, he deserves that much just for the entertainment he's provided to us all down the years. And if he really wants to carry on competing with Rossi....start a Spanish talent team. You can never have too many of them
