@Ian_H - Would you mind measuring the feet on the centre stand - outside to outside - I want to purchase a turntable to make it easier to spin bike in garage - and it would help for which size i need THANKS
Are any of you with the V2 a short arse like me? You had any luck getting hold of a Low Seat? Anyone tried a seat from a 1200 DVT or 1260? THANKS
V2 seats are the same as the 1260. I'm the opposite and needed the high seat which took a few weeks extra but turned up a while ago. Have you asked Ducati - what do they say ?
Been on order since end Jan - not showed up... now they changed part number.... next date at factory is early April for the new part number...
Hi all, I'm new to 1) having a road licence 2) owning a roadbike 3) the forum! I have a 1 week old V2S Travel and I love it! (400 miles in) I had awful trouble getting insured for all of the previous reasons discussed; the official Ducati insurance were the worst as every time I spoke to them to make sure that they had the proper bike and additional Travel bits, they then had to speak to their "underwriter" who changed their mind every time I phoned up (with ever increasing prices!) In the end I found "bemoto" the most helpful and actually had the model on their system. I insured myself up to the hilt, including license protection support for £650 (I'm 51 with no on-road bike experience; had a car license since 1987 with never any points and no claims) In my two weeks of ownership I have noticed significant chain stretch; in fact it's at 7cm when roughly measured as per the swing arm instructions; has anyone else experienced this? cheers Steve PS I live nr Horsham in W Sussex, and other V2 owners local?
Thank you for that; I'll wait until it's 600 mile first service and the dealership can adjust it the first time
I’ve had a V2s on order since March. The delivery date is a complete lottery. It’s been August then December then October and now June. I’m contemplating replacing my ten year old Multi1200 s Sport but I’m going to hold on to it until I’m convinced the V2s is up to the job. I have a three week Europe trip planned for August so I hope it does turn up in time. Having tested one back to back with my 1200 I can categorically say the V2 is NOT as flexible at low revs so take what the media say with a pinch of salt. What I do like about it is the aerodynamics which are better and the new electronics package. Update: Its here!! Collecting on the 22nd and booked first service for the 27th.
Welcome to the forum. I've had my V2s Travel since March 2nd & I'm now on 2,500 miles. It is a very comfy, easy bike to ride & economical. I've done 8 or 9 hr days on it with little discomfort. My chain stretched quite a bit during the first 1,500 miles. It was tensioned at the 600 mile running in service & I've done it once more since. It seems to have settled down now though. I clean & lube it after every ride and the centre stand makes this an easy job. If you haven't done so I suggest you fit a rad & oil cooler guard. I fitted the Evo-Tec range to my bike along with their engine guard. I've also fitted the Sat-nav high mount for my Garmin Zumo & hard wired it into the switched live connection.
I've only used the Evo-Tec version so I can't compare them to any others. I've been pleased with it. It does wobble a little but that doesn't bother me. It positions the XT at the perfect height so I just have to move my eye line down a fraction to see it. The bracket is just a support so you bolt the original mounting bracket that is supplied with the XT to it.
On my 1260 I’d say the Evotech is more stable than the Navihalter and easier to adjust, but I haven’t used the Iconic version
The Ducati bracket, and all others that mount to the bracket behind the screen will wobble a little as its the height adjuster mechanism that's causing that, not the bracket. However, I did notice that the change to the XT from my previous 590 Zumo seemed to reduce this. The XT is lighter so I put it down to that. Otherwise happy with the Ducati sat nav bracket. Apart from the Navihalter it was all that was availabile at the time. In fact the Navihalter wasn't as the guy that made them had allegedly been involved in a serious bike accident.
