Shipping Motorcycle From Europe To The Uk

  1. Hi there,

Long time reader (also purchased a few things off forum members). Ride a 'Strada 1260S.

Planning an epic trip this August.

London to Greece. Taking the longer route through France, Germany and all of Italy. Then riding in Greece for few days.

Looking to ship the bike back from Greece to the UK instead of riding it.

Anyone know of any companies that do that? Can ship from Greece or take the ferry back to Italy and ship from there.

I only know Bikeshuttle who go from Geneva (used them in 2019, they're excellent).

    Anyone know anything?

    thx!

  2. If anyone charges more than £20, I’ll do it for board & lodgings plus fuel, and will ride it back for you. Just tell me when.

  3. How about we split the trip? I'll ride yours down and you ride yours back up? ;)

  4. Great minds... was just looking at that option Jez.

I'm starting to think Brexit will make it very hard to find a shipping option.

May have to bite the bullet and do that plan. Only challenge is, can't do one day on the Motorail to Dusseldorf. Zee Germans want you to buy a two way ticket.

  5. There's Tony Barker at Eurobiketrans, who might be able to help bring your bike back, he uses a location in Italy, among other countries. The only problem is that he was having trouble with arranging the necessary paperwork after Brexit, so I suggest speaking to him to see if he can help. The link is below:

    Hope it helps,
    Tom.

  6. I'm fairly sure the auto train still runs Nice-Paris in France if that helps?

  7. Will try that link. Thx!

Best plan I can see for now it a ferry from Greece to Venice and then the motorail from Verona to Dusseldorf (buying a two way ticket that starts in Verona and just never using the second ticket).

  8. Auto train in France stopped all their services a couple of years ago (sadly)

  9. A friend of mine moves cars of all types and value in/out of Europe all the time. He knows the red tape inside out. He has also moved bikes in the past.
Contact him (his name is Alex) and say Roy from Nürburgring sent you.

  10. -----------------------------------------------------------------

When I spoke to `Eurobiketrans' earlier this year he said he'd stopped doing collections in Italy. Between Brexit and Covid he said it was totally dead now.

I used a 'man with van' to collect my Yamaha from Italy. He was transporting 2 others back when he collected mine.
His email address was [email protected]

I think he was located in Liverpool.

I would highly recommend and he also sorted out my paperwork for me. (that was a lot more complex post-brexit)

  11. Thx for that.

Can you share a price range? Just so I know what I'm dealing with?

  12. I'll try it out. Thx Roy!

  13. It's best I don't set any expectations that could lead to disappointment. I was lucky enough that he already had 2 bikes in transit and I was flexible to meet his timelines (rather than mine).

Suggest you cheat to him to see if you can work something out that works for both parties.

  14. Gotcha. Sent him a message last night. Let's see ;)

    thx!
