I received a text message this morning purporting to be from British Gas, asking me to send a meter reading. My smart mobile didn’t recognise the number so I ignored it. Tried the BG web site ….. not a chance. This afternoon, I got a followup text from what my mobile said was BG apologising for the earlier text but saying you could trust the number. Well, I sent a reading so will wait and see. As for SSE, they have said nothing and their web site just times out. Took a time and date stamped photo of the meter which will have to do. Andy
British Gas app never works for me. I always have to log in online through the portal. mad as both my gas and electric has a modem on it ffs.
SSE now equals OVO for me. They are the same people/group and the excuse on the app/website is that they're waiting for the 'transfer problem' to be resolved. Useless.
