Just bought a 916 BP, saw it, five minutes later it was mine. It's rather quicker than the 'sports bikes' I grew up with. Roy, aged 51 and a half.
That's the way to do it Roy, love at first sight, 51½ you make me feel old. Once you get used to the riding position you will love it even more. Welcome to the fold. Steve
Saw it on ebay wednesday evening, half a mile up the road. Took it home thursday morning to show the wife. "that's a very nice bike, you're not thinking of buying it are you ? " "Just bought it, do you still love me ? " Took it through it's paces on Friday - awesomely quick I must say. Sunday went out with my boy, gave him the keys for his appraisal and guess who ended up riding a battered SV650 for the rest of the day ? Must admit, he looks better on it than I do. Roy
Good for you! I hope you managed to wrestle the keys off your lad and get to ride it yourself. The 916 is the bike that first turned me on to Ducati as a marque - I remember it standing out from all the other bikes in the magazines when I first got into biking. I'm never likely to own or ride one - couldn't do it justice - but I still think they're very sexy bikes indeed.
I'm glad you elucidated that. For a moment there I thought that was a pic of you, aged 51. I thought, WTF? And I thought I looked after myself...
Don't mess with the seagulls at Rye, they are 'well hard'. Second impulse buy this year, saw a nice T140 Bonnie back in January and had to have it. Still got a bit of my redundancy left but I'm sure the Duke will soak some of that up Roy
