  1. Just for back from a cracking ride yesterday, thought I'd give the mutly a once over. On checking the rear mudguard I noticed the bolt had dropped out of the ( half moon shaped ) chain protector. Couldn't find a bolt to fit so called my local dealer in Sheffield, because its a "special bolt " that'll be £7.75 sir. FFS, Ducati you make fantastic bikes but you are robbing gits.

  2. I'd be using a bolt from my box.

  3. The box is where you keep your nuts, not your bolts.............Owzat!

  4. Where's ya box. Lol.

  5. I got stung for two bolts for my heat shield on the 848..................Twenty of your earth pounds Sir, thank you very much!!

  6. No nails. Job done. Thread can be closed.

  7. Ugh, this doesn't make good reading. I just picked up a spare set of fairings, only trouble is they have the Dzus fittings on....and only the female parts of :( I don't really want to arse around with the ones on the original stuff so was thinking about getting a second set of fittings. Might have to have a rethink

  8. If they are fitted with dzus get the fasteners, easier quicker all round better! Have considered adapting mine but means you have to drill the holes out of the fairing a little and I'm reluctant

eBay is your friend you can get black or hold or whatever for and a set for about the cost of the OPs bolt lol

  9. Sorry, 'only'ET has that power......

or so he imagines, .....humour him!,

  10. Thread closed :upyeah:

  11. Hmm, I was planning on just converting for trackdays, then back to the originals after. I'm not keen either to go drilling my fairings, I looked at crash bungs for it when I got it but ruled the ones that sit outside the fairing out for that reason. Do you know how much of a faff is it to go between the 2? Standard -> Dzus -> Standard, or is that not really an option?

Will have a look around ebay too and see what there is. Thanks

  12. epic fail!,

remember, you need underpants over trousers, for the 'power' to flow......

    try again....

  13. I think when you go Dzus there's no going back that I could see, I got a full set

    (Thread still open) Loser

  14. Swapping fairings you mean? I allow a morning, thats 3hrs of thumbling, swearing, shouting and forgetting where the last bolt is holding the front fairing on (its behind a rubber wellnut btw facing forward hehind the headlight) then 5 mins putting the track fairing on with dzus and 2 bolts.

putting it back is much the same...except he swearing is related to fitting the fecking mirros

  15. No, a set of Dzus fasteners for the fairing, I don't think you could go back to standard

  16. Think Matt has a spare set...but you cant go back as the holes will have been made bigger.

  17. That sounds much like me yesterday!

I did mean swapping the fairings, but swapping from the track set with the Dzus fittings to the original ones with the standard fittings. Sounds like it can't be done, which is a bit of an arse as I had the track ones sprayed up today

  18. Not sure what you ar trying to do. Remove the roadones and fit track instead? Thats easy. Or part fit the track ones tonstd ones, eg keep top fairing for headlights but fit sides and belly of track kit?

  19. Yup, this has suddenly dawned on me....

  20. Bugger, sorry, probably not being to clear here. Trying to do too many things at once.

I bought a spare set of plastic fairings to use for trackdays, it said female clips attached. What I hadn't realised is they are Dzus clips. So it looks like the set has been set up to use with Dzus fittings.

I want to use the nice ducati fairings when I'm not tracking the bike, which have the standard fittings.

I have a feeling it's just not going to be possible to swap between the 2 different sets of fittings? So fit the plastic track ones with Dzus then the nice ducati ones with standard.

I have the nose, tail, side panels and pan in the spare track kit. Tank will remain with some carbon sliders on it.
