I'm really sorry to have to inform the Forum of John's passing recently. You will be missed by many John with your humour and your incredible life stories, often involving your trips to India. I'm sorry I will never be able to take part on a Tiger Tour now, but so glad you managed to visit so many times as I know you were truly happy while out there.
Stuart (Torquepen) rode with John more than anyone over the last three years, and he took this of John when he had his 848 which he was very fond of.
Oh no. I met John a couple of times at Rykers. Really nice genuine guy. This is sad news. RIP my friend.
Thank you for letting us know Chris, still have a clutch plate John wanted to replace one he borrowed and a couple of books he lent me. Very sad news indeed, spent quite a few hours with John and Les RIP having a laugh and would have loved to accompany him on one of his Indian trips. Lovely guy! RIP John, like others you will be missed.
Such a sad thing to read. Like many others, I have only good and very fond memories of John, despite never having met him. We had numerous pm chats and I always found him to be genial, interesting, thoughtful and caring. A lovely man, bound to be missed by many. Rest in Peace, John
Sad to hear this Chris I had noticed the red OM was missing for a while Rest in peace John will see you on the other side Thinking of those of you touched by John through the years and to his family
RIP John, one of the very best and a great person to talk to, had some long talks with him down at Boxhill back in the past a great loss to us all. ☹️☹️☹️
I am really sad to hear this. John was a fantastic guy, always had a great story to tell from his interesting and varied life involving anything from snakes, coconut husks, nefarious substances, lovely ladies, politics, e-bike mods, Crawley in the 60’s….basically, sex, drugs and rock n roll and everything in between! Had the pleasure of having him round for food on a few occasions where he regailed my family and I with more tales. He also famously saved me after the chain snapped on my 1098 at Brands and I had the honour of driving his old Jag (for which he told me off for using too much gas/fuel). Sad news. See you on the other side mate!
Oh dear truly one of life’s gents, real character who showed how life should be lived. Thanks for letting us know Chris: RIP John
It was me he borrowed the clutch plate off! He was (rightly) passionate about setting up the clutch on his Fugly to make sure it was sweet and silky!
Thank you for letting us know @Chris Such sad news. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. RIP John
