V4 Pikes Peak

  1. Not that keen on the carbon screen on the V4. The one on my DVT was great but the V4 one looks all wrong to me.

  2. Tail tidy looks great .... I’d buy any screen to stop the horrendous wind noise.

  3. outdoors in daylight shots. tad better.........screen exactly same size as standard one. will feedback on difference in wind buffeting etc

  4. If you can live without using the bike's key (which is no biggie if you have keyless for the fuel cap), then I'd suggest getting a Givi top box and buying the (much cheaper) red insert for it. You'd get a bigger, better box for a lot less money. Get the official mounting stuff though. I've done exactly this on my 1260 and not regretted it at all.

  6. hmm pretty minimal i reckon. appreciate its subjective and probably now in my head, but just been out again and reckon the carbon screen might help but its certainly not night and day and is it worth it...........again that's subjective

  7. Good point - not sure how much the lock is though?

  8. Well from Ducati a lock set is £220 for 3 locks.
If you buy a set of panniers from them they don’t come with locks ( for the 1260 at least ).
I’m living this dream at the moment

  9. But the bike comes with a lock (maybe more than 1) spare

  10. My 1260 came with 3 locks, 1 for top box and 2 for panniers (I went with my own Givi top box so they weren't used)

  11. My 1260 PP came with three locks as well.

  12. And the V4PP

  13. Isn't the vent located in a different position on the carbon screen?

  14. Yup much nearer the top which is why I was hoping for more obvious difference. Still quite blustery here today so will see if any more concrete differences next time out........and the one after that.......and....then give up and live with it

  15. Yep I’m on my third screen now with little difference from any of them, wondering whether to change back to the standard seat rather than the raised heated one, I’m getting desperate ☹️

  16. Wonder wether these screens were wind tunnel tested at all‍♀️

  17. The standard V4S screen is as good as it gets on the Multi., i suspect. Its the best set up i have had on any bike.

  18. I agree with the V4S its the first time I have not been looking for a better screen on a multi, for me, the standard screen works really well - did all the screen changes on the 1260 and found the smaller sports screen with the Wunderlich adapter to be the best. On the V4S the standard screen is really good. Maybe the PP needs the 19" front wheel to sort out the aerodynamics :).
