Hi , Can anyone tell me if there is anything additional needed on the bike to fit the standard panniers , I seem to remember pre dvt had a bung , yet despite having had some before I can’t recall whether there is anything extra on the DVT onwards Thx in advance
Yeah, they're expensive but worth it if you tour a lot. I have a set but only used them once in two years.
I have a 1260 PP and I have the panniers and large top box, never used them, would sell them so what’s the right guide price for them? Thanks for any advice.
so looking at your pic I appear to have a piece missing , Is there a piece that bolts on the back of the peg to accept the bung ? Looking at mine it’s missing from both sets. , I don’t suppose anyone knows the part number I need , or where I might find it Thanks in advance
Thanks a lot for the response , that’s what I needed to know. Don’t suppose you’ve got any for sale have you ?
Not sure where you can source a pair of locks other than buying the complete lock kit (item #12), the cost of this project is heading skywards... From this eBay auction it looks like it gives you the locking fuel cap, a key blade, the seat lock and three lock barrels (for the panniers and top case). Though these are a possibility... or the same part number from Ducati Coventry (cheaper, especially after shipping) though they only list the XDiavel as compatible...
Looks like this ref number could be for the appropriate lock set: 59821541C. This seller had them listed but they're out of stock at the moment however, in the Description section of the listing, it does show what models the lock set fits. I would get in touch with a Ducati dealer and confirm the reference number?
I bought secondhand panniers, and bought the lower brackets from Moto Rapido. I also removed the lock barrels and filed down the "tangs" in the locks in order that I could use my existing key. Take the lock barrel out, put your key in, and file away the metal that sticks out - you'll see what I mean. Only took me an hour start to finish. Been using them that way for ages with zero problems.
@fatbob99 About the locks of your future used pannier purchase: You could get a (non electronic) blank key from your dealer or locksmith and ask the seller to cut it for you. Here's my link that also includes a 1260 Pikes Peak parts manual which may be useful to you and all. https://www.mediafire.com/folder/inlz3czvn876f/Documents
