So what have you done today..?

  1. Just have a brew and wait until you get across for some decent French grub...

  2. Can't beat a full English! French grub for the rest of the trip, which I'm thoroughly looking forward to.

  3. I agree, but decent ones without the use of yesterday's microwaved leftovers and a deep fat fryer seem a thing of the past.

  4. More McDonalds per capita than any other nation! Use them for a coffee and a clean toilet! Usually entering and leaving towns.
Good food available. Excellent menus at mid day from as little as 14 euros, 3 course with wine. Harder to find but good eating in off main route towns and villages. Autoroute charges have become ridiculous. 70 euros from Calais to Provence on a bike, add another 50 for a car. Cheaper to stay on National routes, cheaper fuel and have a night in a hotel. Got back yesterday after 6 weeks. Have a great trip!

  6. The b&b gets great reviews for their breakfasts. That’s even more important than a good bed for me!

  8. First right once of the tunnel, then into glorious countryside. Autoroutes aren’t for me.

  9. Today I did a clay pressing class, ran around on a beach went paddling and got water in my wellies, did a sea life safari off the coast of Cornwall and saw common dolphins and finished off with fish and chips. Or maybe my little girl did all the above( but my feet got wet as well…)

  10. Pulled up some timber edging from the path in the back garden in readiness for re-cobbling the path this coming weekend.

At 11am I had an hours telephone interview for a job, which I’m not sure I actually want. To try and put them off I said the package had to be worthwhile and stipulated that the salary element of the package needed to be at least 30% more than they’d indicated and they replied that they didn’t think it’d be a problem. SWMBO thought the original offer was more than reasonable and was amazed I’d asked for more, and that they’d consider it :p Anyway next move is from them by next Tuesday. If they offer what I’m asking for then I’ll have a decision to make. I’m not fussed either way.

After lunch I took the gash edging timber and 8 black bags of vegetation/crap (pulled up from the lawn when I scarified it on Saturday) to the local tip. After which I vacuumed the inside of the car.

I’m now done for the day and I’m having a cuppa and a slice of lemon drizzle cake. :upyeah:

Not sure if I really can be arsed with another job :)

  18. Demand lemon drizzle cake breaks, free time to clear garden rubbish and a 50% increase in package with guaranteed bonus scheme. Win, win. If they can’t do it they can’t afford you, if they can you have your cake and eat it. Simples!
