Not sure where to post this rant, but having gotten up early to get out on the Panni, it would not start and 9 hrs later it still will not start. A tad peeved is an understatement. I switched it on, it fired up for a nano second then died only to make what sounded like gulping noise whilst turning over. It no longer fires up but still seems to turn over and make these odd gulping noises. This bike has been trouble free since August last year but I fear it has the fuel pump / starter motor issue I have heard others talks about. Just waiting for the AA now to take it away. I wonder how long Ducati will hold on to it whilst they bugger around. It was fine last week with no issues at all. What a waste of a glorious day. I get very little chance to get out on the bike (1,700 miles since last August) and now cannot. :frown::frown:
It is massively annoying to part with loadsamoney for something that can't even do the most basic thing, like start. I share your pain.
Got me on that one. AFAIK there is no cold start, at least no manual one. Anyhoo, the bike is now off to JHP Coventry next week for attention; new tyres (not quite worn yet but I pulled out a flint from the rear that was v deep and it is a 160 mile round trip each visit; rear sprocket and new chain (moving to a 41 rear, up one tooth) and change of the black rear brake fluid. My local dealer does not fit tyres and will not touch suspension (apparently the larger sprocket changes the ride height).
yep classic ducati thing particularly single sided swing arm where the chain is adjusted by a rotating eccentric hub like the special bread.....rotate the hub to take the slack out the chain the rear goes up ...
