V4 Multistrada Exhaust (end Can)

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by ymfb, Apr 17, 2022.

  1. My Multistrada is going for it’s first service shortly, I’m toying with asking to change the end can for something a little bit louder, no need for performance upgrade it’s already way better than me.

Will just the end can suffice?
Do I need the dealer to fit it as it needs a magic screwdriver?
Is there a less expensive good option?
What happened to Termignioni, when I first had Ducatis it was the zorst of choice

    TIA

  2. I agree that it needs a bit more bark, so that should certainly help. Looks quite nice too.

  3. There was some discussion about end can options a few weeks ago for the MV4S. The Termi you’ve found must have just been launched as I was doing some digging and couldn’t find one previously. The only other options o could find are the QD Gunshot (in titanium or black) or the Zard (that is pig ugly IMO).

I might consider the Termi but only if the baffles can be removed… but can’t find any info in that even on Termi’s website https://www.termignoni.it/en/prodotti/d21008040itc-ttc2021-2022-omologato/

  4. It all depends on how restrictive the cat is? I had a Termi stubby end can on my ‘13 multi, I know it’s a completely different bike but it’s difference in sound with the can was very minor, it was more a aesthetics think than anything else.

im sure some YouTube videos will pop up soon enough with it fitted?

On a side note, I know Akropovic cans are now made with baffles in that while they can be removed it requires drilling out and removing the end caps to get to the baffle screw to remove them. Either that or guess where the screw head is and drill a hole through the end cap to get to it and then cover the hole with a gromet.

  5. I couldn’t see where to drill out any baffle front the Akra Slip on when I’ve had a look before… I know the Akra full system has removable baffles though.

It looks like the Termi might come with a removable silencer as on their website under ‘Spare Parts’ they have one listed… guessing must be the baffle unless it is a replacement silencer can..?

    SPARE PARTS SECTION

    D21008041TTC – D21008041ITC: silencer

    D21008064ITC: small metal parts kit

    TER916: carbon end cap
    TD1068: carbon heat shield

I’ve messaged Motorcycle Performance Store asking about the Termi baffles and availability… will report back when get a reply.

  6. Your challenge is that 95% of the sound mitigation is done by the CAT so anything you change after the CAT will make only a small difference. Changing the shape of the end can, can change the tone and add a little volume by changing how the exhaust gases resonate. Have you ventured onto the V4 Multistrada forums ? You should find some feedback there. Andy

  7. There is a video somewhere of someone taking the Akra end can apart. There was no sound deadening stuff in the one he dissected.

  8. Here you go

  9. Yes, agreed… I’m not looking for/expecting the same sound as the Akra full system (I had one of those already) but, like most, am looking for a bit more sound than the Akra slip on delivers… is a just a shame there are no removable baffles on the Akra slip on.

I’ve messaged Motorcycle Performance Store asking about the Termi baffles and availability… will report back when get a reply.
I saw that as well and checked myself… no way of modifying th Akra slip on…

  10. Unless it’s in the main body of the can? I know the full system can looks the same but is different.

  11. Today I booked my bike in for a service in early May, the dealer will lend me a bike fitted with the Akrapovic slip on for a few hours whilst my bike is being serviced. Whilst Im not expecting much difference, it's not going to cost me to try it.

The full Akrapovic system is not going to fly for me mainly because of the price but also it's a race system so might not pass an MOT.

Im not against the Termi but let's see what the Akira slip on is like first.
