So if you dont want to get your one piece on but instead want to sling on some of those ankle boot thingies and some armoured jeans what jacket will make me look cool but without being looking a plonker? i hasten to add i ride bikes of the sports variety no cafe racer stuff etc (although i do have a beard)
Nice Greenwood’s cardigan for me with football buttons and two large pockets. Beige is a classic colour, goes well with red or at a push yellow. Tartan slippers with easy close Velcro a must! Certainly draws attention matched to my pudding basin side flap helmet. Jeans a little bit too rock and roll for me, don’t think they’ll catch on
No idea! Luckily I stocked up in 1980 Everything in Greenwood’s was nylon! If you shuffled across a carpet you could put a three pin plug up your rear and charge batteries! So I’m told.
Not sure if it will fit any jacket but this will do the job. Dainese Union Connection Zip Belt£47.95Bike Stop
Don’t be wearing that sucker in the rain though, once fully saturated you can’t lift your arms up to the bars!
Quite a few jacket manufacturers recognise this issue and make belt loop zipper accessories that you thread through your jeans belt and belt loops and then zip to the zipper that you usually use to join leather trousers to your jacket. I have these for both my Dainese and Richa jackets to use in conjunction with my Rokkertech jeans. Have done tours with the above solution. Good in warmer climates as the Rokkers flow a decent amount of air. Now have a Klim Marrakesh jacket. This unfortunately lacks a joining zipper but will be used with my Rokkers for a tour to Corsica later this year. Whilst jacket doesn't tend to ride up in normal use on my Multistrada it may well do on a sports bike. Additionally it would be less secure in an accident situation.
Rukka jacket usually with halvassons waist zip, which you add behind belt. Of proper motorcycle rated crash jean; rokker for me. https://www.motolegends.com/motorcycle-accessories/Halvarssons-waist-zip-Black.html
This, and add a back protector into the pocket. Other colourways are available... ...or the one I really like, makes me feel cool, fits even better than the other one and is liked by non bikers too(!) but doesn't have a back protector pocket... Often come up on here for bargain prices... Just bought one of the Dianese jeans-belt-zip thingies - have been meaning to do a DIY version for ages! Oh, and I have a very grey short beard
I have a plain black leather Dainese jacket that I use. It's a slim fit and the pockets are impractically [annoyingly] small (don't take a phone or wallet easily), and the black fades each year so needs to be retreated with black polish, so I wouldn't really recommend. However, imo, a black jacket with armour is what you need.
Had an earlier Dainese D-Dry jacket years ago. Had an off wearing it in 2009 and it practically disintegrated, luckily and despite being holed and torn the armour stayed in place and protected me from serious injury. Fell heavily on my shoulder as the bike low-sided. Had I been going any faster than the 45-50mph I was travelling at things would, I reckon, have been far worse. Maybe they've improved the construction since then and used heavier weight and more abrasion resistant material?
