  1. Had an apple ID one yesterday WARNING SOMEONE ACCESSED UNAUTHORISED etc...CLICK HERE TO LOG IN AND SORT IT. Yeah right

Maybe someone should make arrangements to go see it? Who knows maybe someone has no idea...I remember a guy Oxford way who sold his SPS for £2800 a couple of years ago, Vg condition, because it had sat a while and he really didn't know what he had, thinking it was a std 916. Stupid works both ways...

  2. Same people tried it with me for. Vw t5 they emailed me the exsact email as u Pegboy right scammers spoke to eBay my self about it

  3. Gumtree is fine for selling the kids bikes and 1980's pine beds, I wouldn't buy a car or bike off it.

  4. If ebay watermarked their photos with the ebay logo and auction id, it would stop a lot of the theft of these pics to reuse in scam adverts.

  5. I once saw a add on Autotrader for a 1098 way below book price , the funny thing was it only had a email address and no number as the seller said they were in holland and could not recive calls ?, so when i did enquire just for a bit of fun and to waste thier time I was told if i set them the £4000 with Pay pal they woud ship the bike right to my house :upyeah:, it would arive in london and then be transported down to me in devon for no extra charge , very nice ! funny thing was when i told then i would be in london on that day and could pick up the bike from them and give them £4000 cash on the day and save the pay pal fees they were not intrested. funny that . its the old saying "if it looks to good to be true it probably is " and 9 times out of 10 its a Nigerian with a lap top sat in a mud hut

  6. Loads of these on scum tree, Mate of mine got done, went to view a property to move into, walked round it, liked it, paid his deposit and months rent in advance then on moving day turned up to find someone else living there. turned out it had been an empty house some git changed the locks on and did this scam with it. Turned out more than 10 people had been done by it. Good way to make 30k!!

  7. The reason it's impossible to sell a vehicle using a mobile device now is because of a government crackdown on this kind of fraud. It's because you can buy mobile devices without giving your personal details.
There's no category on mobile eBay or Autotrader Apps for vehicles.
I can only guess they are aiming to trace & shut down scammers home IP addresses?
I have a mate in the (car) motor trade who told me this.

  8. I was looking for a telehandler for work last year and spotted a manitou for sale in telford for £6000 and the going price for this machine was around £16000 dodgy thought i but lets see what happens so i emailed them about viewing and a supposed woman emailed back saying that she had the machine as part of a divorce settlement funny i thought most women want the house then she said i couldn't view the machine as she had moved to scotland and the machine was up their and she was working offshore on an oilrig funny again but if i paid the money through an ebay account all guaranteed she would get the machine transported down to me at cost and the details she sent were for a barclays account and this was on plant trader.Didn't buy it.

  9. you sure? My eBay mobile has vehicles, and why would AUTOTRADER not have a vehicle category?

  10. A few years ago there were many people offering heavy discounted cars that were advertised as repossessions and confiscated cars, I looked at a range rover overfinch that was 10k less than its book price.

The deal was you expressed an interest and they gave you all the details, you pay for it and the money stays in escrow until its delivered and you accept it.

The thing that alerted me was all the cars seem to have pictures of them sat on a drive but every car was on a different drive.

What they were doing was taking pictures of high class cars sat on the owners drive and advertising them for sale, you pay an escrow company that they have set up so once payment was made the money was gone, the phone was dead and email addresses deleted.

I spoke to the police about it and they confirmed it was a scam, the registered company never existed, vat No was bogus, phone lines were redirects etc.

I didn't purchase anything luckily for me as 20k on a range rover I'd never see would of ended my marriage lol

Unless you can visit the vehicle to view it and they give you all the details including a photo copy of the documents, you can verify the company details leave well alone.

  11. It may show vehicles to buy - but can you list one to sell? Try it. I couldn't do it via iPhone 5 using eBay or auto trader.

  12. Not all good deals are scams, there was one case when an angry wife put her husbands lotus Elise on eBay for a £1 when she found out he was cheating on her. If I remember, it was on BBC News once it had been sold as the sale of the year.

  13. It would be theft, as it's not hers to sell.

  14. im selling a panigale R 2013
    yours for £4900

I just dont like the colour
if you can send cash through the post I promise i will post it

  15. also beware of logbook loan scams

  16. Depends who's name the car is in, thankfully my bike is mine name but my cars are not

  17. Name on the log book doesn't show who the owner is, just the registered keeper. Why are your cars not in your name?

  18. Registered keeper is the only legal document , unless there is anything else I'm missing? I know that I pay for two cars but I've got no legal documentation to say that they are mine, both in my wife's name because she signed the paperwork. If you look closely you can see the word 'MUG' on my forehead.
