I wouldn’t ride without earplugs now tbh, and don’t understand how or why anyone would ride without them.
Interesting. I don't ride with ear plugs as I simply don't need them. My helmets maybe have thicker padding than some others? I did ride a Harley a few times in Mex as a "road captain" for a friends rental company who offered guided local rides to his clients. Based on that, I definitely think most people who ride bikes that are super loud, ride with ear plugs to avoid their own deafening noise. There weren't any ear plugs available in Mex, otherwise I would have used them too.
So the Police say the landlord did not have the right to use the police as a traffic calming method, thus causing a danger to other road users causing them to react in an unsafe manner,(accident). Does that mean the Police are admitting that they are happy to cause drivers to react in an unsafe manner and possibly cause an accident because they can make money out fines?
The part of that that is wrong is that that is the Police’s job, an individual is simply not allowed to impersonate them otherwise where would you draw the line?
I never did either Jez, but thought I’d replace the stolen AGV K5 with a Caberg, partly because it was half the price but also because I fancied a change. Big mistake, can’t ride without earbuds in that lid!
Hello drinky,if the police put a van there and caused an accident, you could take them to court and rinse em.the owner of the pub would just take it down with no consequence and keep serving his customers
To be honest it’s a costal road and I do use it a lot to take my wife and the grandkids to the beach ,that’s when I really miss my ear plugs and loud exhaust
I’ve got Shoei, Schuberth and AGV lids, all with thick liners, but still wouldn’t wear any of those without ear plugs. I don’t fancy getting tinnitus later in life.
You will regret not wearing them one day...tinnitus is horrible and there is no cure for it. Its the wind noise that will damage your hearing.
Couldn’t agree more. I have a different tinnitus in each ear. Left ear was caused by wind noise for sure. I have to fall asleep on the couch with the TV on most nights then set an alarm for the wee hours to crawl up to bed half asleep. The alternative is a whistling in one ear, a hum in the other and a general ringing on top, leaving me lying awake trying to tune it out against silence, I.e. near impossible. Its awful. Wear plugs people.
Pardon On a serious note, I'm already hard of hearing/deaf, call it what you may, and wear hearing aids - have done since I was in my early 30s. I just mute my aids and they then act as ear plugs - hardly any wind noise but can still hear and feel the engine and exhaust. As said it's the wind noise that deafens not the exhaust note.
Everyone who wears a helmet needs them. Just 5 mins of wind noise at 30mph is all we can take before hearing starts to be irreparably damaged, according to a hospital hearing consultant I know. Having ended up with tinnitus myself, I really don't recommend getting it when it's easy to prevent.
