I remember there was a comment about the quick shifter taking fractionally longer from 5-6 gear than it did in other gears ! Like that would be a concern for me taking a Speciale around the TT course - that it took too long to change from 5-6 gear
It's difficult to say whether or not MD will be competitive on the ducati given the fact he'll have base setting yo work from, and with if am correct both DH and PH are with there previous teams will have a far greater advantage. It will all depend on who gets upto speed and dialed in quickest given the 2yr break.like the rest of you am pretty excited to see some TT action again. Will be interesting to see how JM gets on too..
Looks like MD on a Ducati is not going to happen .. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/northern-ireland/61203992
He has a habit of splitting up from teams not long before the roadracing season starts not ideal preparation for MD
Can’t blame the guy. Most dangerous motorcycle races in the world on unproven machinery with little data
BUT..... He knew this, he knew the Ducati hadn't been there in years, he knew that it was going to take some work. Sorry, for me this is just MD being a massive diva as usual. Harsh I know but history tells us this isn't unusual, he's called every team 'family' until he falls out with them, Tyco, Suzuki Buildbase, he even had his own bike ready to go when he rode the milwalke bike, so yes it had an issue relating to safety, but even so, surely then when it comes to signing for PBM he would have thought back to that experience. I dunno, I just think he needs to get out of his own arse.
As well as north west? Paul Bird did say that if Josh wanted to he would let him, but that they could only support team and bike for one rider and had Dunlop signed
What on ? Brookes was quite unimpressed to be riding his 2021 V4 at Silverstone for the start of the 2022 season. Andy
I follow Road racing in depth , have done for many years and whilst i get where you are coming from i think you are way off the mark. The thing with MD is his drive to do well / win and that comes out in not being slow in jumping off a bike onto another and perhaps looking like the diva you mention. Is a diva someone who throws his toys out of the pram ? Well yes it is so perhaps MD is a diva but for the right reasons and not because he doesnt get all yellow M and M's MD will go in any direction that he thinks he will be given a bike he thinks he can win on and if PBM sat and promised him a full fat V4R and the backup to get it to perform that he would sign in a heartbeat . I would be looking at PBM and seeing what they did for him to jump . Lets be honest Birdy has a terrible history of riders and im not surprised its gone sour ( but very disappointed). MD's approach hasn't helped him i'll agree. Look at Deano and Hicky with the stability of the rides they have. They are more likely to accept that their bike is maybe a little short on others . MD isnt. The biggest loss is us in not being able to watch it all happen ( which would have been a broken down V4R btw )
Pretty much agree with all of that apart from the very last bit! The V4r has proved far more reliable than some of the jap fours in Bsb,yes I know the TT is far more punishing but I don’t think reliability would be an issue!
Tbh I kind of don’t want him to ride competitively ever again. I always feel he’s an accident waiting to happen and I’d hate for more misery to land on the Dunlop family.
