haha, yes i know what you mean but its a big task to finish at the very top over there and i just think its still a Ducati ...... 100% this He has calmed down over the last 2 TT's compared to what he was at the beginning, almost as if it was his destiny . But he doesn't put the aggressive moves in like he did. Is he the fastest guy over there on equal machines ? No, not any more. 3rd fastest . If he was to say " i'm done " then a huge amount of people would agree with you Oh, and anyone thinking J McG is capable of pulling a result out nowadays is hoping for at least 6 other riders have a bad day.
He has never been the fastest guy on equal machinery at TT. Like guy Martin. His wins in road racing are imho linked to his lack of fear rather than his skill over others. Exciting. Moody. Focussed. Also-ran.
What a shame, I have been looking forward to this for the last two years - and now it is not to be. In away going along with things is the easy option, saying no I am not having it and walking away takes a bit more courage. Anyway, its his life on the line and his call.
hahahah. So if you have big balls you don’t need skills to win 19 TT races and can lap at 133 ? hahahahahhahahah
Not sure that’s what I said. But if your balls are bigger and you have same or bit less, it helps I won a handful of races: it was big balls rather than skill I can assure you lol tbf 2013 and 14 seemed his years. And if you look at what Hicky does on both roads and track, like Hutchinson, MD has never been close to them imho. But I’m not a fan of his tbh
actually, I wasn’t either but I’ve mellowed to him as he has changed . Yes, like every rider they have their prime years and then things drop . It’s life. Hicky is the real deal over there. Anyone who can lap at just under 130 in their rookie year ……. oh, and I finished top 6 in the Manx a few years ago . Unsure if that was skills or balls
Tried a few times with a mate to get the enthusiasm to do the manx after a couple of friends I raced desmo with did it and raved so much. Never came off though.
That’s a shame as it’s a hell of an event to be involved in . Funny but Desmo was something I always fancied but never got around to . It’s the ones that think they are indestructible that worry me. But back on thread, I read a few comments on another site are saying it was money , as in Dunlops demands that put an end to the ride.
Michael Dunlop now down to ride a Suzuki GSXR1000 at NW200 and TT .. https://www.iomttraces.com/latest/news/dunlop-joins-hawk-racing-for-superbike-senior-tt-challenge/
Great news. Not sure the GSX-R has the outright power to win the TT, but it must be a great handling bike. Amazing if he won on it.
