Stupid Car (or Bike) Names

nobody remembers the Dedra.

 

Can we cover cars names that translate badly in another language?
There was never a Rolls Royce Silver Mist in Germany for example..

 

Ditto Opel did not adopt the name Nova for the Spanish market.

 

Opel and Vauxhall carried different names for model in any case was my understanding, briefly owned an Opel Manta back in the 80’s.

 

memory going, but Alfa 164 was something like "die all the way!" in one language.

 

said it before on here, Audi so missed a trick by not securing "Partner" as a name for a UT, wudda bin taylor-made for all them ranch-ownin' good ol' boys.

 

had respect for a section of the the Nissan styling department years ago as weren't afraid to be different and "humorous".
