V4 Test Ride On A Multi V4

  1. Lucky for you too then, it would seem! :innocent:

  2. So, my bike is needed for a week and therefore decided not to go for an extended loan bike, so just a bimble.

V2S is the better looker and can't see the need for the V4 unless you ride pillion and carry the kitchen sink, personally.

So, I did the sensible thing and ordered a Pikes Peak :D

Yes, a year, but spending a couple of grand on the 950S (Desmo./tyres/chain/sprockets/perf indicators/levers) I thought I may as well get some use out of the new bits, rather than swapping in within a few months.

  5. I had a few years on boxers but was pleasantly surprised how much engine braking the new V4S has, it also surprised the car following me going down into Ludwell on the A30 when I closed the throttle when the 40 became a 30

  6. It also pissed my mate off when we went to France last week, even though I explained on numerous occasions that I always slow down for reduced speed limits!

  7. Have you ever ridden a HyperMotard 1100S? I'm lucky to get 100 miles out of a tank.. and so is everyone else!

  8. @Mark H what's with the Malian flag in your avatar? I lived there from 2003-2006..

  9. I work here in a trauma hospital on rotation for 6 months of the year.

  10. That is outstanding. Where abouts? The only hospital I remember is Point G in Bamako, though I never went there. I did spent 5 days at a private clinic (Clinique Pasteur?) with a nasty bout of Malaria...

If you have pictures, I would love to see them. Maybe I romanticize my time there but I miss it a lot. I was in the mineral exploration industry; I lived in Bamako the whole time but spent a bunch of time in Sadiola (Kayes region) as well as Guinea, Ghana, and Burkina Faso.

  11. PM'd you as this could become one legendary off topic conversation on the OP's thread....:D

  12. So I guess it's our fault for trying to bring some culture to this place?

  14. Just had a test ride on the V4s multi & it’s left me with a question - I couldn’t see the dash with the sun behind me. Never had that problem on my PP 1260 or DVT 1200.
Is there a fix other than only ride in the dark or cloudy weather ?

  15. The screen angle is adjustable by turning a knob under the screen. Not full proof for reading it with the sun behind you, but not bad either

  16. Thanks,
I asked dealer if it was adjustable and he said no

  17. Get an anti glare screen protector on.

  18. Do they work?

  19. Yes - Speedo Angels one works brilliantly
