  1. I am off to Le Mans at the weekend.
Is anyone riding down to Portsmouth Friday night?

  2. Wish I was, did it probably 15 years ago, excellent weekend.

  3. Take your brolly :upyeah:

  4. Expect rain.

Watch out for the French police en route.

Campsites can be NUTS! Pissed Dutch people raving all night long and racing pit bikes between tents etc.

  5. Nice, enjoy!

  6. They were talking about it on the 24 hour race on eurosport the other week and how people turn up with just an engine and keep it running/red lining all night :joy:

  7. Yep. It’s fucking horrendous if you like sleep (like I do) haha

  8. You need to get there early to beat the Cloggies and Frenchies who set up scaffolding towers and ladders in trees all swampy-esq on every decent viewing point. Then the camp sites are transformed into some sort of Mad Max barter town zombie apocalypse. Basically the place is turned into a shit hole in a few days.

  9. We are there for the racing on Sunday. Staying in a hotel a few miles away.
Fabio and Zarco in my Motogp fantasy team league.
Typical, weather is great at the moment, forecast storms at the weekend…forecast is often a day or two off for accuracy, so fingers crossed it is wrong!

  10. As to the campsite, sounds brilliant, just like Donny used to be years ago. Take earplugs if you want sleep, if not, stock on beer.

  11. Just checked the forecast again. Yes, take a brolly. This one does not look like it can miss.

  12. The Bol d’Or in Magny Cours was horrendous for this reason. Like Attila and the Huns were camped just outside the track.

In Le Mans, I am being told you want to avoid camping in the « Parking rouge ».

  13. There’s definitely some sites that are worse than others, BUT, we did our research and stayed in allegedly the quietest camp site for the car 24h and it was honestly like mad max had rolled in to town haha.

i hate camping at the best of times tbf but I’ve never seen anything like it and I spent most of my teenage years in Europe’s rave and STD hot spots.

  14. We stayed in a hotel about an hour south of the circuit, really cannot remember where. We stayed even further away for the Bol’dor in 2015.

  18. Well, we are here! Google maps says 6km from the circuit at the Campanile hotel. Came in the car as someone has swapped Mrs Jbikers leathers for two sizes smaller…

  19. I’ve a set of leathers like that, they must have been swapped as they were perfect last year.
