998 998 Bp Colour Change?

Really sure you want to change the colour? Red is more sought after but yellow and nice carbon fibre go really well together.

 

I’ve just done a colour change on my red 959 to yellow and black. No problem with DVLA but the insurance went up by £60.

Agree with above. It would be a sin to paint that tank red. But it is also a cardinal sin to have a carbon tank and no breather. Proper cool!

 

That tank looks beautiful! Don’t change it, use it for the basis of the whole bike.

 

The Agip decal on the tank is really the chef's kiss.

 

I have a yellow 748SPS and changed the colour to red as they only made them in yellow, this was to match my other bikes. However, I replaced all the bodywork and tank and seat and kept all the original bodywork in order to change back at some point.

I used 998S panels which have the bellypan and it looks quite decent but I know it would not be for purists.

 

The 998 alway sound slightly different to the desmo engined bikes

Sounds is bit different because it a different engine.
It is testatretta vs the old desmoquattro.
I also think that mufflers on a 998 are a bit fatter so that may reduce the noise a bit as well.

I have to agree with yellow, I've a red 848 and yellow 750ss - yellow is gorgeous.
I've got a brand new mono 748/916/996/998 tail in yellow / white if you're interested. I bought it as a complete fairing set. It isn't genuine but quality of the fairing is very good for Chinese knock offs.
