Info for all those planning to go. You need proof of vaccination for entry to Spain. Download the NHS app and get your vaccination history as proof. You’ll need a mask on a plane or ship. You don’t need anything to get back into the UK. When in Spain there is now a government subsidy on fuel of 20c/ litre. They generally discount it from the pump price at the cash desk. It all helps. You don’t need all that luggage …and they drive on the other side, usually.
Also, there’s a new temporary road layout approaching the port at Santander. I decided to trust the signage as opposed to the Shat Nav and it led us on a merry dance past the port and then back again but we got there. It’s obviously work in progress.
Ryanair and EasyJet are fine on short haul. They’re all just bus’s with wings. BA must have recently changed their policy, I flew with them a few weeks ago and had to mask up.
I should be fine, plan on just slipping 'over the border' from France in September..no checks. Got my pass sanitaire if stopped at any point. None of this NHS tat for me
I have not seen border checks in use between France and Spain, only an abandoned checkpoint between Portbou and Cerbère on the N260. The only checkpoint I am aware of that is actually in use, is the one coming from Andorra in to France, customs checkpoint, no interest in the vaccine pass...
That's what I did when I last went, between lockdowns and pre jab. Not going anywhere till this shite is over...
Then i think you may have a very long wait. In one form or another its going to continue to be a PITA
Check how old your passport is, i.e. from the date it was issued to the date you travel. For Spain, if it is older than ten years, you will not be permitted to fly to or enter Spain. FYI interest, the rest of the EU simply requires more than three months of passport validity remaining. Just in case you were wondering, passports last longer than ten years.
