Just had to change mine early and lost 6 months off the current passport as I need to have at least 6 months on the new one to go to Canada in August. And I had to have one of those shitty blue ones!
In Mallorca now . Flew BA , no masks required in UK , here or on the flight Needed to provide vaccination info prior to checking in online and complete a Spanish Health form and get a QR code for entry which was captured on arrival . It’s very straightforward if you have a UK Covid Digital cert , I don’t so had to self certify , I also had to provide photos of the paper cards for BA prior to being allowed to check in https://www.spth.gob.es/
Just curious how long that renewal took as I have a two month "window" August/September, before expiry Jan 2023?
I had allowed 10 weeks, as recommended, as I had a bike trip in Mid June and applied on 1st April. I was slightly freaking out given the recent press reports but actually it was dispatched on the 20th April. I did the application online and sent off the old passport by special delivery. I checked the tracking and it was delivered in 2 days, but the application said it was still waiting for me to return it. It was ‘found or opened’ about a week later and then it was fairly quick. I think if it’s a simple renewal then it’s not to bad but a new application or change of address etc takes longer. Apparently your MP can investigate for you if it is significantly delayed.
As of Monday, masks on planes will be a thing of the past. The NHS app proof of vaccine is hardly a deal breaker. Time to get on with it now, and do the things you enjoy. Or you can just stay at home and let life pass you by, it’s your call.
It's not just the app is it? It's what you have to do to get the app/approval from the app. I'm certainly not letting life pass me by, never have done, never will do. Anyhoo, have a great trip...
I was in the US last week. All I had to do was go into the app and save the proof of vaccine to my phone. That was it. It wasn’t even checked. Certainly wasn’t an issue. That being said, when the weather is good here, I know where I’d rather be!
You don’t have to have the app anyway, paper copies are accepted & screen shots. So photoshop is an option if you’re not happy about the vaccine as well.
Care to elaborate? I have no idea what an RNA is or what you are getting at here (unless you mean you need to get vaccinated)
Do it now…should be fine, don’t wait. Did mine earlier in the year. Mine took a week, my daughters took a month+
Also if you’re going on the ferry be sure to turn your phone to Airplane mode otherwise they lock onto a satellite and you get a bloody great big bill even if you don’t make a phone call. They do make an announcement about this but it’s very easily missed.
yes the vaccine is a RNA that im not willing to take. I am not looking for arguments your body your choice
You could try requesting the AstraZeneca vaccine because it’s a “conventional” one (this vaccine is a modified virus that usually infects chimpanzees). It’s a tried and tested type of vaccine. However, Pfizer and Moderna are “messenger RNA” vaccines.
