I used to get a great laugh out of it. There were some witty people on there. I love those cars though. It's a great hobby.
Yeah, Diahatsu Applause from a quick Google, about 90 bhp , massive wing spoiler probably takes 10 mph off the top end just with the drag !!
"beauty is in the eye" etc aside, definitely a contender in 1974. I couldn't find the stylist, probably just as well. Built as a one-off for Panther's Canadian importer at the time, as a gift for his wife who promptly rejected it . it was then sold to Reza Pahlavi/The Crown Prince of Iran so Bob had the last laugh.
Recently appeared on the neighbours a few doors downs drive, it’s actually growing on me but I dread to think what he’s shelled out for it
Nice cabs but as a working van they are outclassed in almost every dept by a transit. As for the campers, I know they are highly cherished, the whole V Dub vibe, residual values v strong etc but I don’t think they offer value for money?
They're cool and everyone loves em. You could say the same about ducati's, as they most certainly don't offer value for money. Outclassed by a gsxr1000 for half the money. (probs, you know what i mean) Mine is >200hp, 4wd and dsg. I love it. Great for camping and cycles and bikes and stuff. Great vehicle for getting out and about.
