So what have you done today..?

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by figaro, Mar 17, 2012.

  1. Cleaning the Spanish bugs off the leathers, helmets and visors before hanging them up. Then got to sort out the Spanish, blue 95 Ron fuel in the track bikes. The R6 will get fresh 98 Ron and a dash of stabaliser and I'll keep the rest for the Multistrada for June. Andy

  2. What was for lunch?

  3. Indian snacks (samosas, bahjis, curried paneer etc)

Tonight I’m having Nduja Pizza as SWMBO is off out with her friend in a bit to see Brydon, Mack & Mitchell in Halifax :)

(I saw them 3 years ago in Sheffield - they were very funny)

  4. Met a lot off women claiming to be from Lesbos.
Ian at the end of the the place name for some reason
Just like Salford my home town. Salfordian.
Get quite shirty when you ask which part of Lesbos they grew up in.
Liked them a lot, let me use their razors.
Long day, in Bethune on route to Provence tomorrow.:)

  8. Been to see the consultant today to confirm I have a crap disc in my back that is bulging out one side and is touching the nerve and causing my 3 year constant headache above my right eye and symptoms of carpal tunnel in my right wrist which now turns out after tests that no carpal in the right but starting in the left, to some up disc touch’s nerve c5/c6 that causes the right wrist symptoms and head so keep taking the epilepsy/ bipolar tablets :worried:
which are working to numb the sharpe stabbing pains and when that doesn’t work I have a choice of two types of operation, repetitive work is not good for the last 40 years.

  15. What comes around, goes around my friend.

  16. What a bloody awful trip. Left Bethune, brisk run to Rheims. A26 shut, just shut no reasons. Off on N77 to Troyes, packed with trucks. Cross country to Dijon. Back on autoroute, blocked accident prior to Lyon. Filtered for an hour on a fully laden GSA 32 degrees. Through Lyon, A7 blocked, accident!
15 hours total average riding speed 72km per hour over the 900km trip.
Sweating like a rapist in a line out. Left bike in the street, in house, cold shower just got up.
    Sun shining, coffee
Still breathing marvellous market day here. Life’s a breeze.
Oh lots of melted chocolate in my so called cool bag!
    Carpe Diem!

  17. Never understood why the auto route finishes and you have to drive through Lyon, which is no small city, done it a few times in the Stag, can’t anymore because it’s not eligible for the clean air sticker

  18. You can drive round but it puts 18km on the trip and is full of heavy vehicles.
The air quality in Lyon in Summer is just as bad as ever despite sticker systems and fines.
Never understood why they think the fumes go straight up and out but not back into a low lying city. The road system up to about 20 years ago was free flowing and quite pleasant driving alongside the river.
In future I will get off at Macon and follow the Bis route, at least if you get stuck you can get off the bike for water or a pee!
Rhône valley is just a long snaking traffic jam full of shopping, distribution and roundabouts. First rode down in 1976! Happy I did it was still very underdeveloped. Progress, wonderful thing.

  19. Went out for a run around the Peak District……..123 miles in total.

Had lunch in Matlock Bath. Spoke to a guy from Congleton who was a toy inventor.

I wonder what the poor people were doing today? :p
