There's a speed camera local to me that's just on the lefthand side as you enter Bletchingley surrounded / protected by the grass verge vegetation, lack of maintence by the council or premeditated and many lambs to the slaughter, so i like the idea as they bother with other important crimes that's happened in our very own homes these days.
I don’t understand what their beef is? After all they don’t do this for an additional revenue stream , they do it in the name of road safety and so sharing their locations on the biggest social media platform is surely helping to get their message across about road safety isn’t it?
will have to be cryptic on here in future. "the piebald cow is generally observing life today particularly in the Guildford-bound lane of the A246 known as Young Street near Dorking."
Thanks to following the link in first post, I just read that you could still be fined for moving into a bus lane while allowing a siren and blue-light enabled vehicle to pass.
Yep, got fined for it years ago in North London, was 3 other cars in the bus lane in that photo so they made a good few quid that day for sure!
The Dorset Road Safe partnership advertise each week on their website the areas and roads they will be working that week, they don’t give specifics but everyone knows where they’ll set up, generally somewhere with a long straight, often at the bottom of a hill where they can nab you from a good distance before you’ve spotted them and are likely to have coasted over the speed limit.
When making way for emergency vehicles there is no exemption from the law if you pass a red light or go into a lane you shouldn't. In fact the onus is on the emergency driver not to force or encourage you to break the law on their behalf. It's the same as this, they've done people before for warning about a speed camera, they've just caught up with the times and realised it's easlier to trawl social media.
most of it is common sense, and has always been about if it's related to avoiding danger, preserving safety, but momentarily entering a bus lane or driving up a kerb.. hmm.. better add at this point - you realise I am advocate of the Devil here? I know someone on this Forum who would remind an officer of the law about both of the above if witnessed.
Sorry to hear, would like to have witnessed exactly what would have happened if you all just stopped and blocked the road.
Cumbria post their locations daily https://cumbriacrack.com/2022/04/30/speed-cameras-to-target-tourist-routes/
