  1. Unreal braking from Toprak!

  2. Bautista must have had a cracking view for all but a nth of the race lol
Was like a perfect storm in front for him wasnt it. felt a bit for toprak though cos as you say his breaking was something to behold.

  3. Wish alvaro would cut those greasy pig tails off though, they’re absolutely grim.

  4. Fantastic watch again. Very poor that it’s not on live tomorrow. Hopefully Honda and BMW can join the fun in a few races time.
    So much better than MotoGP.

  5. Shakey coming out with some cutting edge stuff on bsb comms there… “if you stand still in BSB, you don’t move forwards”

  6. Not disputing that the racing seemed to be great in the first race (just catching up on the others) but does anyone else think that the fact it wasn't shown on Eurosport shows how little the viewing figures are for WSBK now?

They had BSB on Quest but could have put the morning BSB race on and instead they were showing re-runs of Wheeler Dealers. It's only a few years ago they had 14k spectators turn up for the WSBK round at donnington, it really seems to be struggling.

BSB however, the racings superb and the coverage and general feel for who to interview and when seems spot on.

  7. Tbh, I wouldn’t be surprised if bsb is around 14k a day in terms of spectators.
My dad has chopper pics of brands on a wsbk weekend where you cant see grass for people. Absolutely rammed.

Gone are the days of motorsport in the U.K. pulling 100k crowds in a day. Lucky to get 30-50k tops over a whole weekend on an event now such as bsb/wsbk/btcc etc.

msv like to produce their figures much like the government and covid figures. Leaving out any context.
It has been known for old palmer to welcome his 45k crowds on race day, when the reality is that’s been 45k since Friday morning.

  8. Agree, and he's including all the cleaning staff as spectators!

I was at Brands in 2002 for Bayliss/Edwards/Hodgson absolutely ON IT! You honestly couldn't find enough space to open your arms out anywhere, it was shoulder to shoulder and the atmosphere was just incredible.

  9. Without going in to too much detail, my dad had this discussion with JP. Him and his team all deny that those crowds ever happened haha
even though there’s picture evidence amongst a wealth of other evidence including the fact that people were actually there.

it’s nuts. JP is a bit of a helmet tbh surrounded by yes men. He has done better than most with bsb though I’ll give him that and there’s not exactly stacks of people lining up to own race circuits either.

  11. He’s talking out of his arse.

I bought my old man tickets to this for Father’s Day, it was my first ever live bike meet and it must of taken us 5 hours to get back to the fkn motorway there were that many people and that went in for the next 5 years (at least).

  12. Look how many bikes there were on the grid too :( (some right fat old knackers at the back mind if memory serves )

  13. Rider of the weekend barring the obvious was Rory skinner for me. 20 years old and riding a super bike with the best the uk series has to offer. Impressive.
I wonder if m lav has his eye on him for moto 2 ?

  14. Wait until he decimates them at Knockhill. :)

  15. Toprak save…

  16. Is he still droning on about how much he’s won and better than current crop?!

  17. Toprak is a bit dirty tho. Not that Rea isn’t, he’s proven that on the past, but Topcat seems to pass and take ALL the space and leave none for his opponent. Was funny seeing him singing about Rea after last rounds crash

  18. Tbf I’m pretty confident if he hadn’t of written himself off he’d still be kicking their asses.

    He was pukka

  19. Yep, agreed, no doubting he would likely have won that years BSB, and he was already the most successful in history at British level, and tbh he didn't have a bad campaign in WSBK and GP considering the bikes he was on, look at what he always managed to do relative to team mates.
