No love for the Tudor BB ? Not the 58 as its a bit small Tempted but ive a few too many watches that i dont even wear already sat in tne drawer
Wanted one of these for years. Many years in fact. Finally pulled the trigger on this beauty yesterday. Can’t stop looking at and fondling it…. Model is Tilly. One of our staffies… Audermars Piguet have just announced their one millionth piece. Rolex produce one million watches a year.
Thanks. Boy, do these things hold their dough. I’ve been watching the market for a while and I ran out of patience and pulled the trigger. Rolex market is mental right now but slowly showing signs of softening. But don’t confuse softening with collapsing. The watch market is still strong right now. Not a bad place to have your dough if you happen across a good deal. Happy hunting
Exactly this I’m afraid ^^ I’m done with the Rolex thang. I can’t be arsed feeding the hedge fund game it generates. I’ve got my name down for an AP I really like. If I get the call, great, if I never get the call also great.
Nice watch! I was fancying the Pablo Montoya limited edition version of this but it's JUST A LITTLE outside my budget!
Nice watch. Enjoy. I’ll have to do with my trust old Sub. Off to Turkey for a spot of diving. I’m sure the Sub is overkill for my needs but I work hard. Had one day off in three weeks.
So Mary. What is a good investment/family heirloom watch that can be worn daily without damaging its value? I have a n Omega Seamaster from 2000 that I use and abuse. Am on the “waiting list” for a Rolex Sub/Yacht/GMY Master but not really a Rolex bloke. And I doubt I will ever reach the front of the queue. Say between £5-£8k?
Rolex! Especially sports Rolex And you know what? Hang in there. I got the call on a steel Daytona. And walking through an airport I saw another… Daytona that is… But I must say it’s gone particularly crackers at the moment…. But nothing lasts forever
I'm told that most Rolexes in stores right now, especially sports or "professional" models are display-only. Go in to buy and you'll be added the waiting list, however long that might be for the model concerned. Congrats on your Daytona!
This is true. All display only wherever you go… I’ve had 2 steel Daytona’s. Got them both list and didn’t keep either long. Wish I’d hung on to them. I certainly didn’t sell them on for the mental overs they’re commanding now…. Ah well
I’m on the waiting list for a Daytona. If it ever comes to fruition. The waiting times are mega ! I guess that’s what keeps the prices ridiculous. Got offered one for 18k about 5 years ago or so. Should have had the guys arm off, it was a gold one as well, which isn’t my thing but looking at the prices now I was a very silly boy. my pal picks up his yacht master 2 this week though. Nice watch tbh very jelly
I’ve a couple of Daytona’s, tend to wear either a GMT or my Aquanaut most days. What is becoming apparent is that markets are correcting themselves, glut of greys being reduced on the usual outlets, getting cheaper it seems by day. Why’s that relevant?, well, if grey dealers aren’t hovering them up then AD’s won’t be moving them out the back door, meaning you’ll start seeing stock again. Plenty of “got the call” posts appearing on watch forums. Wait times are getting more in line with what they used to be. Hang tight, you’ll get a watch at MSRP.
It does feel like that doesn’t it! some of the prices being asked were/are frankly laughable. But I guess if people are paying it..
Think a lot of it was to do with people not spending in lockdown so watches/pets/art got a lot of new customers.
Stay patient. Prices are softening now on the Daytona. Not collapsing, but definitely going the right way if you’re after one
