749 Bitubo Matris Shocks

Discussion in '749 / 999' started by Nostromo, May 29, 2022.

  1. Does anyone have pics of these on their bikes, all images online are generic placeholder images.
    Cheers

  2. Given the way mupo have gone, imho I’d stick with Hagon for cheap end and ktech/ohlins upper end and forget the rest.

  3. I’ve used Matris fork inserts on my NSR250. Very impressed. Build quality and performance as good as I’ve seen with the more popular stuff.

  5. Used and fitted a lot of Nitron shocks. Again, they hold up very well against the more popular stuff and good value. Decent UK support to

  6. Thanks for all the input guys, I’m looking for a dark aesthetic, hence looking at matris or bitubo, I will contact some Uk distributors and ask for actual product images.

  7. Same here on my V-Raptor - compression & rebound in different legs. They do seem to like regular fork oil changes mind with a noticeable difference with fresh.

  8. Saw that earlier sev thanks, thing I’m worried about is getting something slightly different than pictured, all the stock photos look like the res would foul the headers on the 999/749, just searched 916 and it shows no reservoir on the unit at all.

  9. Interesting. How often do you change the oil then?

  10. Wilbers Nightline fits the bill.

  11. I happened to change the oil when doing an all over refurb after ~15/20k and there was a noticeable difference in the damping. It was a lot smoother and less harsh & 'jiggly'.

So I now do it yearly which is around 8 to 10k.

Btw much of my commute is on quite fast & bumpy B roads.

  12. So this is the bitubo shock for the 748/916 etc, stark contrast in looks to the 848, still hunting for a 999/749 image. 1781A989-4D52-4C62-9C5D-D7C742D7F03D.png

  13. Found a pic of a 999/749 Bitubo shock, it’s in the old silver style 37309D1F-6977-4702-8209-2D1E2FADD571.jpeg
