620 S - someone got a bargain!

  1. Whiff of the north sea on that one

  2. Less than 6000 miles on a 10 year old bike!!.. WTF!

  3. My mate just picked up a 750SSie (dark) from Gumtree for £1100!

It's in really good nick, very very clean and just a few things wrong. Only 8,000Km on the clock and service history.

I think he got a bargain!!

  4. Racing it as a B class bike nextyear? ;-) lol

that is a bargain...if the above one sold for that prices have plummeted

  5. Some people are dreamers, some people will take a hit on the price as they want it gone asap.

You just have to be there at the right time with the money.

In Andy's case with the 750SSie, the bike was advertised at £1295 and people were looking at it.
He turned up with £1100 and rode the bike away.

    There are some bargains about!

  6. The 750 SSie's are worth nothing like the prices some are advertising for, a good useable one is worth no more than £1500

  7. i nearly bought the 620 last night... i just missed out as i chickened out!!!!! had no service history but mot's and no red key. were the only things that put me off and made me hesitate..

    kicking myself all day today..

  8. If it uses the IAW1.5 ECU, like the 750SSie, then it doesn't have a red key!

  9. doh....

  10. They are nice a little bike, 10 bhp more than the 600, fuel injection and better brakes, I paid only a little less than that for my 1996 600SS with 24,000, however mine seems to be a good 'un, I love the classic carby styling (especially in red) and you can't continually look at alternatives and think "what if?" mine was the best buy at the time by a mile. However that 620 was seriously undersold (you should have bought it noodles!!!) my theory is that "620 S FF" is not going to pop up much as a search on Ebay so it was a bit forgotten, the seller should have added more key words in the title.

  11. Or sold it 2 months ago when peolpe were looking for race bikes...

  12. I used to have the classic 600ss in red and loved it.

to be fair to myself (and to try to make me feel better) i really wanted a monster... nope... not making me feel better... ah well back to scouring the classifieds and ebay for me....

  13. If you read all the reviews on the internet, you would never buy one, I ignored all the "expert" advice and bought mine as my first big bike and I love it, you can thrash it everywhere, they handle beautifully and just put a huge smile on your face, I can't believe the positive responses I get from non-bikers and other bikers alike, they are definately now a classic and because of the low value I might even keep mine when I buy something bigger next year.

  14. I just need to find a loved one again!

  15. They are hard to find. A lot of tired over painted rubbish out there at fantasy prices, I got very lucky mine is completely unrestored, was the right money, plenty of detailed history and came with about £700 of spares including everything for the next service including belts.

  16. I paid £900 for my 750ss 4 years ago, there's one on the bay at the min for £2.500!!

  17. But will it sell....theres loads of dreamers out there

  18. Lots of dreamers, if I'm honest its worth more in bits I would think(my bike that is). The carbys do seem to make good money on flea bay at the min. This is the first one I've seen the same as mine for sale in the time I've owned mine, it is identical.
