Ducati Evo 10

Discussion in '848 / 1098 / 1198' started by tm#99, May 15, 2012.

  1. Wot's it like to ride?

  2. The project was made mainly to lighten the bike

On "paper", we are about 1.5 / 2 kg under the weight of the 848 ..[ without the shorai battery , but with the standard ]
A defect in the 999, was the rapid changes of direction and weight up front.
The Evo loses [with sprung weight front ] 3.5 / 4 kg [of front frame, carbon front fairing , internal wiring, LED lights, etc. ... ] And 9 only with the exhaust system [ that centralizes and lowers the weight to rear zone ]
and these are just two areas where weight has been lifted
There is a rear frame, wheels , complete fairing , rear electric support plate / turn indicators, etc. ....
Moreover, with the lifting of the Ohlins rear shock, now the rapid changes of direction are really fast, just think to turn, bend and already turn...
And all this without affecting the excellent driving stability on curve of the 999 series

    ciao

  3. I really like the look of this bike and admire what's been done, however I can't help thinking that the 999 can't have been such a bad design in the first place.... ? Isn't it still is the most successful racing bike they've ever built?

  4. So was it copied from a panigale or is it your own design before the pan was seen? If so, its remarkably similiar

  6. I love it, the 999 may have been the most successful race bike, but in road trim it's a bit of a pig! (IMHO:wink:) This is a great way to drag it into the present, great job!

  8. Sorry, not liking those close up shots at all! Standard 999 looks really sharp... can appreciate individuality and all that, but that just reminds me of one of those MR2s with a really bad Ferrari bodykit on...

  9. Not my cup of tea either BUT I appreciate all the hard work that's gone into it and it certainly shakes things up a bit!!

  10. I have decided that the Panigale doesn't look as nice as the 1098/1198 series. In fact, I don't think I like it as much as the 999. Could it be..... fugly?

The more I look at these photos of the Evo, the less I like it. The headlight scoop things just look sort of odd.

  11. I get what you mean....it does look as if it's got bags under it's eyes in those shots.....

I wonder if the emperor's new clothes has started to wear off the panigale, like it did when the 999 was launched?

  12. I'm thinking it's only a matter of time before we get the "Panigale is fugly" thread. I might start it myself, seeing as I can't afford one.

  13. I hate to say this, but it sort of looks as if someone has gauged its eyes out. There is something vacant and unseeing about those huge holes.

  14. I know where I've seen it before now.....

I knew I recognised the EVO

  15. Don't worry guys, I do appreciate all the comments, both negative and positive ( otherwise I would not have entered the picture in the forum )

Counted that in life , I do a job completely different from motorcycles world ...

And the Evo is coming out with the common tools that everyone have in their garage ..

For the front spoiler (and special air intakes zone) I was inspired by lambo Aventador (not from the dolphin Panigale), and I like very much

The Evo 10, from live is a great beauty (I like it, even in the picture), but also other those who saw it from live , they were amazed ..

and can will always be improved in all the details in the future

    ciao
