Some guy in a van made off with my Evo today!

  1. You need to get the mirror extensions off 100% better looking and see just as well

  2. Very, very nice! I'm not at all jealous really!

  3. Thought you were an old hat at this ducati lark ET? I have to say that, for whatever reason, this Corse SE is several notches above the Evo I had. Yeah, that bike had issues but it was still awsome. This though, is fekin incredible! It even sounds meaner. The pops and gurgles for the overrun happen all the time, whereas on the other bike you had to be slowing down quite a lot, mainly 2nd gear round town stuff. It sounds louder and deeper too. Handling is much better (to be expected from a bike that hasn't been crashed ;) it doesn't hit a wall of stiffness mid corner, correction is easy peasy (because I'm still learning to corner so I need that) and just feels so much mroe ballanced and poised, the brakes are even more jaw dropping too. Tank range is now very acceptable :) Only stopped twice in 3 1/2 hours today. Then there's traction control, QS, and that beautiful shock (don't care what people say, it is better than the sachs unit).

But when you put it all together its on another level. If anyone is considering an Evo, seriously find the extra moolah for the Corse!

  4. Will check it out, I'm getting tired of doing the mirror shuffle to see anything behind.

  5. The longer mirrors are as standard aren't they?

  6. The 2013 model seems to have longer mirror stems than my 2012 model, from the pics posted anyway.

  7. Ok I misread, thought Rich said I should GET extenders. They are the same as on the evo, so I guess that had them fitted. But I can see less than before because of the bigger tank. Can't even tuck my elbows in to clear the view now. They never stay when you put them anyway. Will have to examine pics too see what looks nicer with or without.

  8. Flapping like a chicken is all the rage anyway

  9. I do love the tank on these models

  10. Looks like you have the long ones already....Any longer and Elmer Fudd will be after you with his Moose gun!

  11. They do look longer than those on my 2011 848. Just wish they were foldable as my neighbour has the hump now as I had to take a gate off of a shared alley way... I have legal access, and in my view the gate was restricting my access. No problem with the Jap IL4's with folding mirrors...

  12. The Pani has folding mirrors too I believe.

  13. The Pani mirrors are beautiful. And sensibly attached to the metal sub frame rather than the fairing itself - that's such a stoopid idea, especially on a vibey twin, even worse on a vibey twin with a flappy front fairing.

I assume I can just remove the extenders and refit?

  14. Ive had mine a month now and Im still amazed every time I ride it........enjoy!!!

  15. i think you'll find they're attached to the subframe through the fairing.

  16. Isn't that waht I said? its the 848 mirrors that are a stupid design, not being attached to something solid.

Looked more carefully today and the 'extenders' are the entire base section, so I can't remove them without replacing them with shorter...er mirrors retractors?? I think I'll leave as is.
