Tyre Prices In The Last 30days!

  1. That’ll be coastal taxation, you aren’t paying just for the ice cream, you’re paying a mark up based on the location you chose to purchase it at. £1.50 for a 99 round my way at a B&Qcar park.

  2. For sure but i can't help feeling that someone's taking the Michael, as for the petrol today......just don't ask.

  3. Anyway without realising I missed the fact that you bought two treats, were you hungry or was this a rendezvous with a romantic bias?

  4. A mate on another motorcycle.:upyeah:

  5. Next generation...rubbish.

I recognise an Avon Speedmaster (rear) when I see one.

  6. All of the ‘Road’ tyre prices are still a bit lower than track stuff, it only makes sense if it’s literally that the road stuff uses more silica or other material for durability rather than outright grip, because road tyres must sell in volume, or perhaps have been produced in higher volume (maybe answering my own poiNt)

  7. Tis true...The nearer you get to the sea the more expensive fish (and chips) becomes...:astonished:

  8. It’s not the fish, it’s the transportation costs of the spuds to the coast.

  9. But surely it's expensive herding fish inland....
    Thread drift....:astonished:

  13. Back on topic... 70% of the tyre is made from synthetic rubber which itself is a by product of the petroleum industry....

  14. Just bought tyres for my VFr400. Took quite a while to even find places with stock! I bought a rear in N.I & a front from Manchester; both which were the last in stock (allegedly). The previous ten places I looked had none available and a wait of 2-3 days which might actually be weeks.

Cost was £225 delivered which is about an increase of 10% from when I last checked.

  15. It’s a good job my dad owns a big fuck off tyre factory. Phew!

  16. Russia may be the third largest producer of crude, but they don’t supply a third of the worlds crude oil.
I have had no problem buying fuel, as I don’t suppose you have.
So please tell me where the shortage is? I understand that globally oil is in high demand.
But we are paying nearly double what fuel was selling for in 2020.
There is definitely profiteering on the back of the conflict in Ukraine.

  17. I didn’t state there’s a shortage but the price increases based on the commodity markets and what buyers and sellers gamble on it’s future value not it’s supply.

  18. Would I be correct in thinking, like the previous oil crisis in the seventies, other OPEC producers aren't increasing their output to make up the shortfall?

  19. you forgot to add smug-nicity pic. :upyeah:

  20. Any chance you can take your ramblings about Fuel price onto someone else's thread.... The point regarding Carbon Black has been made, the references about supply and demand are also well documented, can we just move on....

Back on topic, again... I think soon, as @Advikaz said, with trackday numbers dropping (I haven't seen evidence of this, but like I said Snetterton last week seemed a bit quieter, but could just be Snetterton) maybe the demand will decrease slightly for tyres anyway and it will level off.

I've managed to find a couple of 'okay' deals, Supercorsa SP V3's for £330 a set, and I can get some Metzelers for under £400, it's a lot more than it was, but it's a lot less than buying Supercorsa SC's which are £300 just for a rear tyre now.
