Locked them up. Chained. Blocked in by car. Ready for holiday. To get at them takes time, noise and moving a locked auto. Crazy lengths you have to go to so you can leave stuff and deter scumbags!
a bit different i'm afraid. still handy though. the lads bike only has, if i mind right 2 wires coming from the generator. 1 for the ignition pick up and 1 for charging which presumably splits into two or more for the regulator/lights. i cant check at the mo as he is away making the dough to help realise his dream of being a redneck.
Learning Banjo or trying to grow the necessary sixth hand digit? Without knowing the year of manufacture. It’s just a guide as to where to start looking can be a bit of a minefield the sx, but it’s just built by piaggio, kind of a generic bike badged for Derbi,Gilera, Aprilia and few others. I’ve found Derbi the better brand to search for info, but generally the same bike under the plastics. Ended my end watching a YouTube clip of a Derbi to fix my lads kickstart as there is nothing out there much for the Aprilia variant.
Fitted my new SW Motech bag to the loose rear rack, to see how it fits. Will do a trial fitting on the bike during the week, but I’m very impressed so far.
yip, they are both pretty much the same bike. it's a 3 year old bike. that mechanically looks like it might of spent 30years in the backwoods. that's been tampered with by folks with too many fingers and thumbs.. working my way through it. . well ferk me, i wasnt hands on fixing his bike and got out on the fugly yesterday, they do go well dont they. that's two dry days on the trot i think this must be the wettest may and june ever.
I've just booked a MOT for the red superlight, the first thing he said to me was, this better be good......it was 8.30am and they open the doors at 9.00, LOL
Given the Scrambler a blummin’ good ride out around South Yorkshire after it was dyno’d 3 weeks ago. It’s running like a dream and it’s so responsive now with its 7 extra horses
Sorted (mostly) my 916’s stator to (MOSFET) regulator wiring! When I 1st got it there was no charging as there was an extra tail of wiring to that shown that connected this lot to the old reg. That 1st elecfukery bodge was cross connected so shorting the stator. I removed that tail and as the visible end wires were yellow I had thought they were the originals from stator. Peeling back the heat shrink and tape today has revealed there was 3 tails added to the old wires !!!! The connection shown had got too hot and fused the plastic sheath. I’ve now cut the original wires back to near the stator cover exit and soldered 12awg silicon sheath wire in and on to the reg plug. At some point I’ll go full silicon to the stator but not today. Has a nice steady 13.5~13.6 v charging at a range of revs
